I hear your concerns manatee dude. but I dig diversity..so I'm okay with how things are.
+1 I'm not even clicking on it.not touchin that with a 10-foot pole.
You mean that URM thread that's a couple of pages long? That one has been around for a couple of weeks, I think.
What up, Pedie
what up
lol... im wondering the same thing my friend
esp since i have to be up at 630 tmrw!
nope, I can't make it. But if you're feeling nice, I'd love a recap of how awesome/unawesome it is
I'm black and I used to be against affirmative action.... Then I went on my medical school interviews...
Anyway, on a lighter note. Has everyone decided where they are going are do we still have some people who are accepted but wait-listed at other schools? I'm thinking about pulling the plug at the two schools I'm wait listed at and just going to the med school that liked me.
Stupid pick of the draft: picking Miguel Olivo (second string catcher on CO) over Ianetta (first string catcher on CO), made the switch last night. Now I actually have a catcher that starts.
Thought Olivo was still on KC, oops.
😴 Nap time.
Then crazy homework session all night.
Not sure if this was a stupid move but I was really on the fence and pulled the trigger. Got rid of Harden because he's had a terrible spring, provides a lot of Ks (but I geared the rest of my rotation for Ks), and is injury prone. Replaced him with Blackburn who has always been middle of the road, workingman pitcher for MN (MN's Danks).I was kind of annoyed that Napoli didn't play last night. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often.
(for batters) The first criteria I use is bench them if they aren't playing. You can tell this because it'll have their opponent/game time in the column to the right of their name. Knowing which ones actually start the game is more difficult. For starting pitchers, look for the "^" next to the opponent. For batters, click the "Research" tab, and check the depth chart. Higher probability that they will start if they are #1 for their position. This is weirder for catchers who swap in and out relatively often (see Napoli, lol). Then you can look at a bunch of other stats if you're determining who to start over the other if two players with the same position are playing that day.Okay, so I'm setting my roster, but I'm a little confused how I know which guys are starting now and which aren't and why I should move them. Anyone care to explain?

1. Are they playing?
2. Stats/match up
3. What stats do you need? (hits, runs, RBIs, SBs...) and start the guys for those stats if possible, do this more near the end of the week.
Pitching: what I've found is you want to keep your good relievers active and swap out your starting pitchers based on if any of your SPs are making starts on a given day.
Then again, this is my first fantasy BBall league (or fantasy league at all) and it's pretty daunting to start with baseball, lol
So what happens if I don't have enough people that are actually playing tonight to make a full team. For instance, I don't have anyone that can play 1B, 2B, or 3B. What do I do?
nothing, it happens all the time, you just play with a partial roster. you can help alleviate that problem by signing/trading for a more balanced roster comprised of people from diff teams.
Totally fine. I'm not starting a 1B or SS tonight and I have backups at both that happen to also not have games tonight. It happens 🙂Oh okay! Good good.
Aw yeah. Tony Parker cleared to play some tonight against the Kings.
Steady stream of good news for Spurs fans over the last few weeks 🙂
Another URM thread on SDN. I don't want to get into it so I will post it here where noone will notice. Even though I think from the social standpoint affirmative action is a good policy it is a little annoying that my 36 and 3.99 would look so much better to the adcoms if I was of a different skin color.
Maybe it's just me, but I just don't feel like that's fair to be able to hold onto more acceptances than that after May 15th. I hope that it is rare that anybody actually does this.
the tool meter in the ppl who dont deserve it thread is off the chain
i never liked this phrase as a justification for things. i mean, just because life isn't fair doesn't mean that we shouldn't aim for other things to be.yea, well, life isnt fair.

"You know you're an SDNer when..."it's so very SDN to have the conversation turn to what an ivy league school is and how a 3.7 "isn't all that great"
i dont want to think about last nights game, but did anyone actually dunk the ball last night?
