sweet lookin' turtle! does he/she smell?

I grew with the Bulls too... grew up in Naperville!

NBA basketball was so much better back in the day

whoa ur turtle looks pretty badass

i wonder the significance of the red tread on the legs? makes me think he could be a badass....

I live half hour away from Naperville!

Those were the days. I miss the Bulls of old... huddled up by the radio for every road game and WGN for the home games.

And sorry BB but I'm a Cubbies fan at heart

It's ok. I feel bad for the fans. I hate the organization. Hopefully the new ownership helps them out. The Trib just used the following logic:

Option A: spend money, get good players, win, fans flock to the games--> profit
Option B: spend no money, don't get good players, lose, fans flock to the games --> double profit

Option B it is. And it's all the fans' fault for supporting this garbage.

I always rooted for the Pacers or Jazz against the Bulls.

I also liked the Lakers back then, the only time I ever liked a dynasty (unless you include the 97-98 Broncos).

It sucks to see a World Series opener in which CC and Cliff Lee are facing off

wow 🙁

just depressing I tell you

The Cubs have the 3rd highest payroll in the league.

😕
On terrible players, and only more recently. The past trend has not been as such.

Also, everyone's aware of the historical value of Wrigley. But the facilities themselves are dirtier than a urinal.

I remember a game when he hit like 4 or 5 three's and Phil Jackson went ape**** on him

sounds like the knicks a few years back

actually, sounds like the knicks right now too, until next year anyway

Where did this go? I thought someone posted this earlier...

sorry... but I had to

oh crap it didn't post the pic! ah well... I don't want to be too annoying.

I vote that the awk-turtle makes an appearance every now and then on this thread 😀

Sometimes it's amazing to see how much payroll bad players can eat up. Then you look back and realize they were only good for one season and that's how they made the money.

Soriano is a freakin' plague. They can't trade him and he can't catch a fly ball. Not exaggerating. He seriously has trouble.

I'm still at an absolute shock that I will have to take out 250k+ in loans if I do a MD program

being poor sure has its perks 😀

actually, given that i work with *actual* poor people, i shouldn't joke. my family is definitely on the way lower end of middle class but i never felt like i grew up "poor" until i got a full ride to college

+1. it actually kind of helps me feel better to calculate my loan repayment though and see that it's possible. i mean even if i'm 300k in debt, if i pay 4000/month for 8 years after residency it'll all be gone. as long as salaries don't decrease, if i make like 200k/year that's still over 70k to live on after taxes. and if i have a family to support i'd hope my future husband would be making a decent salary too.

i actually kind of had an epiphany today that if i get off waitlists i really want to go to georgetown, even though suny downstate/dartmouth would be cheaper. does that seem incredibly silly to you guys? i just loved it there and feel like location wise that's where i want to be. i was planning on sending a letter of intent to dartmouth, but now i feel like maybe i should wait and see how i feel in a couple weeks and if i still feel the same i'll send it to gtown instead.

also, totally a morning person here! as long as it's not too early-midnight to 8am is my perfect sleeping schedule🙂

$4000 is a HUGE monthly payment! is that normal? in my head i was expecting like $1500. but what do i know.

idk, a lot of my undergrad friends go to downstate. i can't see people paying under a grand a month near there, even with roommates. NYC neighborhoods are extremely pricey, no matter where it is.

no way, dude. i have friends who go there (and have roommates) who for sure pay under 1k. i'd guess $800?

I thought I was done after FAFSA and NeedAccess.

Now LSU wants me to fill out MPN (which is committing to loans) and loan entrance counseling. JUST TO GET FINANCIAL AID PACKAGES IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

i had that for UMass too. made me super uncomfortable.

Wally Szczerbiak got paid more than Lebron during his entire stint with the cavs.

A LOT MORE.

Me and Deeee dubs have the same amount of posts in here

actually now I'm winning 😀

oh ya, i'm sure it would be like 2000/month if i did it over 20 years. i was just kind of seeing what seemed reasonable to me to pay per month in order to pay off the loan in under 10 years.
