I just made a counter with the same players except Brian Wilson instead of Madsen, and if he doesn't bite, I'll try K-Rod
i have a lot (not alot, of course 😉) of family in so cal, and i might have mentioned that.
may 15th is right around the corner folks...home stretch my home skillets.

At least they're early in the test : )
Edit: Um...is this going to be on test?
ditto for me except mine is from running. super lean on top but not a whole lot of strength. i suck at pull ups/push ups. i should start i guess...

Same for me until I started working my upper body and abs more. I actually like push-ups now. What helped me there was to do angled push-ups and to decrease the angle over time. I just used a squat machine bar to hold onto for the angled push-ups. I really really don't like modified pushups with me on my knees because that wasn't very comfortable and I didn't really feel like it did much to help me build up to regular push-ups.
This is the fit test they suggest prior to starting the program:

Seems reasonable enough for anyone in adequate shape.
yeah like i said, kendrick is sort of a wild card. coming out of the minors he was touted as "the next batting champion," but then he ran into a bunch of random injuries and at times last year looked really bad at the plate (he would consistently take 2 strikes down the middle and then chase a fastball in the dirt)Thanks for the help! Dustin I don't think is going to hit for much more power, and Lidge is supposed to come back in 2 weeks, so I'm going to see if I can get a legit closer instead. I dunno much about Kendrick but if you know him and think he can even sniff pedroia numbers, I'm game. I'll make a counter offer...
Think it's more legit if I can get Brian Wilson/K-Rod? anyway, he looks like he has his head on straight this year, but i'm not surprised that the guy (or girl) who has him is shopping him around while howie's off to a hot start and hoping to trade for someone more reliable. howie's a bit of a gamble but i don't think he's a bad one
👍 sounds good to meThink it's more legit if I can get Brian Wilson/K-Rod? Thanks again, btw!
Sweet, thank you for your baseball acumen 😉👍 sounds good to me
👍
I can't wait...I am excited to share your joy with you when you all hear!! Getting into UCSD was hands-down the best feeling of my life, and I hope as many of you get to experience that as possible. I want to be able to read all of the posts when it happens!
(along those lines...I should be able to get a feel for how many people showed up to revisit vs. how many people are actually planning to attend. I'll let you know what I come up with. I can promise I am not giving up my spot, but I know many people who were accepted to multiple programs and UCSD was not their top choice. I think there's more of a chance than you may realize. Most people I met there got in off the WL!)
i remember students telling me this about the waitlist movement as well. True true.

You've gotten into a school already, right?
I'm weird about this stuff. I don't get grossed out by blood and gore much. It's little things that get to me. More specifically, little repeating things. It's not even in medicine, but symmetric, repetitive things tend to weird me out. Add me thinking about how weird I think it is and a bit of blood, and I'm on the floor. Seriously, it's ridiculous.
I think part of it is because I don't properly hydrate, and I don't generally eat in the morning. I need to fix those. It's just so weird. I've watched multiple surgeries and been fine, but I've passed out after seeing someone with stitches. I'm just weird.
I don't like the feeling of cardboard on my skin...? 😳umm, isnt math all about repetitive stuff and seeing symmetry in things? you masochist!
but seriously, i have some weird psych stuff too. i get weirded out by mundane, repetitive, endless tasks. id have nightmares(the kind that wakes u the f up) about stilting across the desert or put a million broken VCRs back together or something. its really hard to explain, sends chills through me when the thought pops up at times.
no prob. although we'll see if you're still saying such nice things about me in a few weeks if/when howie cools off 🙂xf: for my angels that he doesn't)Sweet, thank you for your baseball acumen 😉
if i was a licensed dream interpreter i would tell you that the million broken VCRs that require repair are symbolic of the million broken pieces of your life that you feel overwhelmed with and suppress into your subconscious so as to save yourself from facing them on a daily basisumm, isnt math all about repetitive stuff and seeing symmetry in things? you masochist!

nab that license, brah!if i was a licensed dream interpreter i would tell you that the million broken VCRs that require repair are symbolic of the million broken pieces of your life that you feel overwhelmed with and suppress into your subconscious so as to save yourself from facing them on a daily basis
...but i'm not a licensed dream interpreter. so i'll just be quiet.

darn - i was hoping for some self-sacrifice. jk jk. lol.i remember students telling me this about the waitlist movement as well.

alrighty, I'm going to go get some Wendy's.
Don't worry, I know what the healthier options are there 😉
Haha, I know! But it's like physically repetitive stuff, like stitches. I know it's way weird, and my problem is totally psychological. I'll need to fix that for med school. I just need a way to get my mind off of whatever weirds me out.
4 letters, one of four holy roman emperors. had to google this one.
That's not terrible. 👍
Except the crappy thing about pull-ups for me is that I've played soccer my whole life so I've got a ton of leg muscle but not as much upper body strength. In other words, I'm trying to lift a lot more with every pull-up with average strength. Makes me feel like a weakling 🙁
or another dream interpreter (with a slightly more freudian approach), would say that since VCRs are used to watch other people, this is your subconscious superego attempting to stiffle your voyeuristic tendencies. you want to watch others so your superego is going to give you an unimaginable task to counter this. also, you have been symbolically punished to the desert for having inappropriate sexual desires or wishes. deserts are dry, impotent, incapable of producing and maintaining much life. clearly this is your fear in life for it shows up in your dream. and for the stilts, well, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but sometimes it is not.

the part of me that took 8 years of latin is DYING inside
last i checked (which was at least a year ago) i could do 2 pull-ups. TWO. talk about pathetic. i'm also really bottom-heavy in terms of muscle. or at least i used to be. i think boxing has changed that a little bit.

I resumed my pushup regimen today, btw.

hmm i don't know if i should be in the still thinking or still hoping category. i'm doing both!
2 days left of undergraduate. 😱 weeeeird
Let's both go in Still Hoping, lolI should be in the 'still hoping' category, but the hope is declining. I'll do whatever bender does, and he's also in the 'mostly decided' category.
Wow. Nice.
