Smartphones are exactly what med students need... thousands more in loans over the course of 4 years. You could argue that you'd get a cheap plan, but it'd be tough to spend less than 5 grand on a smartphone with a data plan over the course of 4 years of med school, especially since rates will continue to increase. You could get a nice laptop, an iPod Touch, and a fast broadband connection for 4 years in your apartment for that amount.
 
So... Has anybody else read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"? I'm reading it right now and am loving it. 🙂

exactly my thought.. they are pretty much must have's these days though i wouldnt mind avoiding it during med school..

I'm going to pack for Europe now... 😀 I won't be around here much in the next month, I might stop in and say hi if I get wireless somewhere on my Touch, but otherwise I'll be back around May 26th. If you hear about any more volcano eruptions, wish me luck. :laugh:

thanks guys, everything is a bit better now

but yea, the trip was like 3 weeks ago actually. my friend went, and everything included - flight to lima, flight to cuzco, flight to bolivia, 7 nights stay, food/drinks/transportation/hang gliding - came out to $750 total. he said he had a blast

i missed out but i'll make it there someday
 
guyski i forgot to tell u but i think they had that flight to lima from LAX for 310 rt a bit ago.
 
now my spell check thinks i am typing in dutch and italian. if only...
 
travelzoo had this deal that includes rt flight from philly to cairo/10 nights and a nile cruise for $1300. i really want to go but i probably shouldnt, lot of stuff to do around here

As of today, there is a new privacy setting called "Instant Personalization" that shares data with non-facebook websites and it is automatically set to "Allow." Go to Account > Privacy Settings > Applications and Websites and uncheck "Allow". Please copy & repost, so others will be informed as well.
 
yea, so ppl were shocked that we got the flight from JFK to LIMA for $275 rt including taxes, but apparently Macchu Picchu was flooded until the end of March, lowering ticket prices

speaking of the SEC, I just ran into a lot of LSU track kids (I think) that are probably here for the Penn Relays. I name dropped metallica and ksmi, they said you guys were studs in real life.
 
Haha, I just changed the setting on Facebook, and it has a popup to make sure I want to change the setting since I'd be missing out on a "richer" experience on the website. Yeah right.

EDIT: I'm also kinda confused about another one of the settings in there. What's the "What your friends can share about you" thing all about?

yeah, that was outrageous. i wish i could deactivate, but i'd miss the pictures and keeping in touch with people i don't see every day.

another FYI: don't know if you guys have the "new" facebook yet (apparently they're phasing it in; i got it two days ago) but after the switch, it automatically made my interests, activities, etc public. NOT OKAY.
 
wow brooklyn, you got me looking at travelzoo...they have some incredible deals on there!! i loveee to travel so much🙂 i'm usually good at living frugally but my desire to go everywhere in the world is my big downfall haha.

But you still have the option to make it private though, right?
