Someone give me a run down of what's happened since around noon yesterday?

In my world, LSU-NO gave me a $5000 scholarship for the first year.

Also, I wrote a letter to the WashU Dean of Admissions explaining that I really really want to go there, but that I've received scholarship offers from other places and that my finaid there sucks. He just called and told me that they'd be giving out more full-tuition scholarships and that I was still in the running for one, but as of now, he could offer me $2500/year.

Wow. And it takes Loyola a week to figure their crap out for me. Still haven't heard anything, btw.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking if I don't hear today, I'll send another email... 😡

not necessarily controversial as in "stop-the-presses, you said what?!?!" just a poorly thought out, stereotypical statement about people with learning disabilities. enough to make me want to put my hand through my computer and do this: :slap:.

dude don't ruin, haven't seen the past few yet!!! I'm anxiously waiting for a time when I can catch up. South Park is just so goddamn hilarious and has been back to it's more interesting social commentary ways!

heh yea, im pretty sure i have add too, but i do like learning the sciences so its not a terribly big problem. just gotta fight extra hard to do some things....

i really can't decide if i'd go to columbia if i got in off the waitlist. i know this isn't likely to happen, but i'm thinking about it anyway.

contigency plans are a good thing. i am pondering similar thoughts about other schools as well.

as long as you don't make a thread about non-decision decisions you have to make. lol.

i think i'd have to (1) see financial aid stuff-- which is scary because i've heard of at least a couple of instances where the dean said he'd offer a spot in the class if the person could commit on the spot 😱 and (2) go visit again-- i've heard a lot about how competitive columbia is. and i'm not sure i'd want to move up to WaHi.

ugh, god no. i hate those threads. i even hate the threads where it *is* a decision but people end up just voting with no comments. it's only helpful if a meaningful discussion of the schools happens.
