Random semi-important question:
Would it be worthwhile to try and shadow some docs in the specialties I think I'm interested in really soon after starting med school? I'm not sure what I want to do but I would at least like to hit the ground running if I decided I want to go into something competitive.
 
Last day of classes was today but evening classes run until the end of this week. That means I still have two tomorrow. 👎 I can hear people going crazy in the streets.
 
seriously you guys are done wayyy so early!! if i was graduating this year i'd still be in school til mid june..

Does LSU have shadowing-type electives that you can take? I say it wouldn't hurt to get some early exposure.
 
do the experiences during the summer prior to med school count when applying for residency?

well we were wondering where you were the past few days, so we figured that since jla is pretty sketchy and has a bunch of acceptances, she must've offered somebody to kill you for them 😀

but i'm glad you're still alive! unless somebody is just posing as you to throw us off....:scared:

Obviously it can't hurt. But I think it would be more just for your own benefit.
 
You would think that a girl who got into medical school would have enough sense not to fall asleep on the beach and get burned to a crisp....no such luck.

yayyy i hope so.. my publications probably wont come out until im already in med school anyway
 
Yeah my PI always tells me the stuff I'm doing now will look really nice on my res app

haha same here every time my PI and others see how overwhelming it gets for me at work they go like this prepares you really well for med school 😀

next time i wanna say so will a nice 3 months vacation 😉

LSU doesn't have like any electives except for the 3 (yes, only 3) rotation electives in 4th year. Sucks. 👎

I was making some bacon in the kitchen and I accidentally dropped the resealable package top in between the oven and the counter.

Bad news: No one will be able to get it unless they move the oven, so it could technically be there for years. 😎

Good news: I had to eat the rest of the bacon because it wouldn't keep much longer. 😀

Well I'm already failing at meeting deadlines. I was supposed to put in my white coat size order by May 1. :lame:
