Doesn't Irvine count by .3 increments? A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, etc?

i'm approved for FAP!!!!! now i get 13 schools free. i'm surprised that they did it so quick. i'm happy now 🙂

Elijah...i paid $225 for my MCAt, can i get some money back b/c all we need to pay is $85.

Nope I tried that trick they wont let you. If you sign up before you are approved they dont care you pay full price. Grats on FAP its the greatest thing ever!!!! 🙂

In this thread? I think so. The FAP guidelines arent too stringent but most middle class and above or people with 2 parents would make too much. yay for being poor i guess 🙂

🙁. Maybe today is the day!!!I wish we could get 2ndaries now. Im excited this whole process has started...hopefully by the end im not crying with only rejections and having to reapply! lol

I submitted mine last night. "Ready for Review" for the time being~

Those waiting anxiously to be verified, take a deep breath... and hold it! The excruciating discomfort will temporarily distract your mind from AMCAS. 😉
 
I feel like I should recieve the FAP, based on my own income (graduated last year and currently work). But the fact that they combine my income with my parents who have no financial ties to me really screws things up, putting me just over the limit.

I think they need to change that.

Me too but they wont. Thankfully they didnt make me count my dads income, though they gave me a tough time about it. The problem is the waiver and money comes from a private company, its not state or government funded. So normal rules dont apply. Like for fafsa you could be independant and not count your parents income, stupid fap wont let you do that independant or not 🙁.

Uggggghhh, they murdered my post-bac stuff. Last year, I submitted and all my post-bac grades were lumped in with my grad grades. This year, they separated them and now I have a 3.3 post bac. It makes it look like I stopped trying when really I took orgo and bio lab, so it was significantly harder than other ugrad BCPM that I had. Oh well, separating my post-bac and grad grades made my grad GPA skyrocket. Gotta go update the AMCAS calculations on my MDapps.

Yes, I aggree, I've been financially independant from my parents since 2003, but they told me that I'd have to show that I'd been divorced from my parents if I wanted the FAP. That, or I'd have to have a prof or someone write a letter on my behaf explaining my situation.

Question for you. How did you go about arguing with them, and, if you don't mind me asking, why was your father's income not counted?

I tried making my case to them via email and they just kept giving me generic responses.

Those could be early decision applicants. They get verified very, very quickly even during peak processing times.

Whew! I just crazy all over my 14 secondary threads. I looked up secondary info for all of them and posted it. If you are applying to any of the same schools as me, go post there. That way I don't feel like a total loser.
 
Dude, you should make sure that this year's secondary is in the first post, not last years'. That's what was so helpful about last year's school specific thread.

I suggest going back to edit all the first posts once you get their secondaries.
