howard i would take off, nevada doesnt take many OOS people same goes for kentucky (unless u have ties to kentucky). loma linda unless you are a fanatical christian or SDA then take it off. Id also take off michigan state and replace it with something else just based on tuition alone. They are I believe the most expensive OOS school. Maybe replace moorhouse too but thats up to you.

Loma Linda? Really? Have you looked at their secondaries or their philosophies? You should really check those out before you throw away your money on a Loma Linda app.
 
So they send you an email when you are verified? I can check my email on my iPod but I can't go to the amcas website. Boo.

i just checked right now, last time i checked was this morning (it was ready for review then). i assumed they would have gone home by now, so maybe my file is just sitting on a desk somewhere while the reviewers are at home for the night?
 
come to think of it, wtf does it really matter? nothing gets out till the 24th anyways. i cant believe im being so neurotic about this.

It doesnt really matter, because amcas doesnt send out any applications to med schools until the end of june. SO basically the ppl that get verified today arent any earlier then the ppl that get verified June 29.
 
Meh, my LORs were sent on 5/29 and still no word. Waiting truly sucks.

Myuu, I hope after I get into medical school this year I don't spontaneously transform into a huge loser with no life that tries to compete for the "top" post (with unfunny symbolism courtesy of Google image search) in a 150+ page thread and say things like "class of 2014 pwns you!" or "too bad you 2015ers aren't as good as us 2014ers!!!!@" or some other such *****ic thing ad naseum.

agreed. we should go back to the days where each school had an individual application and you would have to snail mail everything back and forth. and horse-n-buggy yourself to interviews.

That reminds me. I was looking through old SDN threads the other day to find out more about how AMCAS got started. Apparently there was an AMCAS disaster in 2001 when they first tried to go all electronic. Glad I wasn't part of that. I was still a little baby in high school.

I have nothing against the school (I'm sure you love it there. Back when I was scared to post in 2013, I still checked it to see if you got in. Congrats btw. I never told you that.), but it seems that it would be very difficult to get into Howard if you are not African-American. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the impression I've gotten by reading about it in my MSAR. It's known for being the "oldest and largest historically black medical school." RecyclingBinh's not black, so I figure it'd be harder for him to get in.
