I know what you're saying.

I would like to get an apartment ASAP but this is one of those rare times where I should tell myself Baylor could still happen. I don't want to be signed up for something and then change my life over, that would be annoying and my roommate would probably hate me. :laugh:
 
there's a chess tutoring company in philly that pays 50 - 100 $/hr for tutoring kids at chess

i used to be pretty sick back in the day but they say i have to be rated... or play in a legit tournament 🙁

What are you guys doing for housing I mean school stars July 20 or so for me and I havnt even started looking an likely won't because I desperatly want to get of the wl at ucla. At some point being that it's June soon do you just quit the wl and say goodbye to your top choice?🙁. I'd hate for it to be July and I can't find a house. Being a homeless med student doesn't sound fun 🙁.
 
depending on the city and your budget, you should probably be looking. its extremely easy to sublet your place out (given the lease rules) on craigslist. you should be able to get by without a loss even if you get off a WL.

my friend waited until a month before school to look for apartments in NYC. he had to commute from Philly everyday for a semester before giving into a pretty high priced option

Thanks. I probably needed a new pair anyway.

After doing the math, I realized that I could have bought 1 pair of $15 sunglasses per year for 6 years and it would have cost the same amount. That works for me.

Nope. We just do anatomy and doctoring 101 over the summer. Then it's fall, spring, summer preceptorship, then a couple months off, then M2 is hell.
 
My new computer should get here on Tuesday. 😀

Alright, going to the mall to check out new sunglasses and figure out which kind I want to buy off eBay for cheaper.

2 days till final hurrah before medical school (9 weeks in europe). yipeeeeeee

also let's hope all my paperwork with the school works out since everything's due before i get back (and im sending it out tomorrow)

I'm probably just gonna do small weekend trips with friends this summer. NYC..Toronto...etc. Hoping to do something abroad in medical school though

Yeah I'm probably gonna have to move at the end of July. My undergrad was from September-April... now I have August-June...yay. :lame: haha

I start in august (like a "normal" med student - unlike sammi :meanie: )

I just can't wait to move out of this apt for 2 reasons:

1. it's a #@%# hole
2. I'm moving home for 2 months =
a. Free food
b. No rent
c. Awesome house

So it's in general; awesome :laugh: I'll be bored out of my mind being so far from NYC... but I'll have my PS3, gamefly and netflix; so I think I can manage for 2 months :meanie:

Yea I'll be in Wisconsin for the last few weeks of July... and classes start second week of August. So I'll have 1 week to move into philly.

All of my extended family lives in Austria, so I will be spending 4 weeks with them. The other 5 weeks I'll be going through Prague then through Germany to Denmark, back down and through the Netherlands, to London, Belgium, and then through Switzerland back into Austria. I've spent this year working just to afford it, hoping to start medical school without a bunch of crap racked up on my credit card.

It's a great computer for a great price.

I originally wanted a 14" screen but the 15" screen was almost $200 cheaper and had way better specs plus the slot load disc drive. I think mine cost $650 or something, but it has a ton of memory and it was free processor upgrade month.

complely agree! at least you live close. i feel sooo lucky that my roommate lives there now, so she can email and look at places and i don't have to make a crazy trip down there to try and find a place in 1 weekend.

also, random apartment searching questions-what would be the point of putting ridiculously cheap apartments on craigslist if they're not real? Most of the ones were looking at are in the 2000/month range, then we found 2 random ones that were 800/month. do they think people will be dumb enough to wire them a deposit without seeing the place or something?
