But they're just trying to put food on the table.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

heh clearly!

Man this housing search in philly is still not going very well :bang: I'm hoping to miraculously see an awesome apartment tomorrow, sign the lease right there and BAM we are all set!

iPod's are amazing!!

As in your average regular iPod? Or an iPod touch?

My iPod was one of the best purchases I ever made. After Katrina, I had to ride a school bus 120 miles round trip to school and back so I decided that lugging around CDs wouldn't be a smart idea. Bought the iPod and abandoned portable CD players forever.

Normal kind. I hadn't thought of listening to it at work until one of my friends mentioned that she had hers on at work. Now, I'm much less bored.

iPod Touches are so great for traveling if you don't have a smartphone... can just grab wireless in any hotel and have a quick internet connection without lugging around a laptop. Great screen for watching movies too.

Apparently I am VitD deficient...wtf

the doc actually told me today that i should take a vit D supplement. i guess with all the sunscreen + cloudiness in the northeast, almost no one gets the right amount. at least it's treatable!

That's odd.

Brooklyn is only 8 posts away from 10k in this thread. 👍
seriously...I was expecting them to say I'm dancing with anemia again (veg dieeeet)
Go in the sun more!!
I am always in the sunnnnnn!

yea...when the nurse left the message to call her back she sounded so cryptic and uber....like they discovered cancer. And all she had to say is that I still have varicella and mmr immunity and my vitD levels suck

ok so another living situation question: do you guys think it'd be better to live with med students or random young professionals? i've decided i def want roomies, but can't decide which would be better. on the one hand, med students would be nice cuz then you can commiserate and help each other, but on the other hand non med roommates might be a nice break from having to think about medicine all the time.

both would be good, but for me id rather live with other med students I think it would just make things easier.

I will be living with 2 T3s. I think it will be good to kind of see what to expect...plus they are givin me free reign over their books.

I'd rather med students since they are going through the same stuff. Walking to class together, same groups of friends and such. Just easier in my mind.

Anybody else see the sweet Starcraft 2 ad that's been airing during the NBA finals?

I would pick med students over random young professionals because of my VCU experience. My host lived with some friends with jobs, but they would make tons of noise and have friends over all the time because their work ended after work was over. He seemed like he had to try really hard to concentrate or just never study at home because once his roommates got home from work, they would just distract him. Good thing my roommate is at least still in undergrad.

They probably won't ever be at the apartment, either.

Yea...they mentioned that they are planning away rotations...aka the house is all to my pretty lil self 😛
The trade off is that I'd have to take care of their dog..and since I already have a pet to take care of it is not like I am making too big of a change to my routine.

If this game flops it will be the most depressing time of my life. I could live with RA3, but this will be too much.

Unless you totally hate their dog.

It kind of bugs me that certain schools rename the M1, M2, etc with some letter from their name (ex L1, T1 ...). It's annoying. Just call it M1 like everybody else.

I finally set up my LSU alumni email account and now I can't get it work because there's too much stuff I have to do to properly install/set it up. I freaking hate computers.

Ksmi, help me...

I've played the Beta, it's pretty awesome. Here are some gameplay videos if you want to check it out yourself.

Put it on 720p HD if you want to see what it actually looks like.

ya i think i kind of agree with you guys-especially because i'm VERY easily distracted from studying lol. it would probably be a good thing to be peer pressured into focusing! now i just have to see if any med students would want to live with me...if not, i'll just have to go with random young professional people from craigslist which would be ok too.

You can do a lot worse than random young professional people from Craigslist, so you'll be good either way.

A murder in the neighborhood can significantly knock down a child's score on an IQ test, even if the child did not directly witness the killing or know the victim, U.S. researchers reported on Monday.

I just play a 90's rock internet station on the computer. Forcing all who enter to listen to it:laugh::laugh:.

Go bask in the sun!

I'm really trying to get some non-med school roommates. You definitely want something different when you come home - do you really want to come home and talk about med school all day? And if they do talk about something different - you were probably there since med students all do the same thing for the whole day...

Besides, I'm a bit worried about competitiveness between med students. Sure I don't give a hoot - but they might - which could get annoying.

Peer pressure you'll get from the students in general - you don't need one living with you 😀

I'm actually trying to find other grad students (law / business etc.) to live with. The main reason I want to live w/ non med students is because they'll have a different circle of friends / having fun schedule. That's always a nice thing to have - you have the option to hang out w/ your friends or theirs!

Besides - if you need the company of med students - go to the library; from what I hear they never leave :meanie:

I haven't done that yet. How do you sign up for one?

LSU should have sent you an email to sign up. You go to this website to register, which doesn't work so you have to email them and then you get to make up your own account. I did that but I can't set it up to work through Outlook quite yet. We'll see, because I'm in no hurry right now.
