Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've decided that due to the fact that I'll have no income for the next 4 years, I should be a human guinea pig for all these (reasonable) clinical studies going on here. I'll let y'all know how that goes.

we can't participate in studies here.

i'm actually looking into getting a job...they have a couple for students 🙁

My first round of exams are the Monday and Tuesday between the West Virginia and Tennessee games. :lame:

The second round of exams is 2 days after the Alabama game. 😡

(btw these are ALL home games)

+pissed+

I have 1 test the day after West Virginia, 3 the week after Florida (where my roommate went to school... should be crazy), 1 the day after Alabama. 🙁

 it's pretty awesome that you guys are scheduling things around games.

ksmi, you gonna go back for the big ones? if everyone goes back, how do you get tickets?

and since when is West Virginia vs. LSU a must-see? is there a rivalry i don't know about?

Why not?

Nope. Don't have the time/I wouldn't be able to get a ticket. I'll be glued to the TV though.

Nah, we've never played them before to my knowledge (or at least recently). They are good, we are good. So we're expecting a good game. 🙂

Only 38 days til the first game. Geaux Tigers!!!

i couldn't tell you to be honest.

met, you going to the games?

i dont thnk i'll be watching much football this year. no interest in college and not in any fantasy leagues for the pros (dropped out of the 4 i was in last year). basketball will have my full attention.

ugh i've been waiting for the comcast guy for 4 hours! it was supposed to be from 8-11 then he called and said he'd be here at noon, i really hope he comes soon.

i forgot how much stuff goes along with moving/how expensive it is. i feel like every time i go out i spend another couple hundred bucks just to get random necessities. oh well, my room/the whole apartment is coming together slowly but surely🙂

It's not, but it's a very important out of conference game for us.

 it's pretty awesome that you guys are scheduling things around games.

LSU-NO has a lottery to get student tickets, so we'll see how that ends up working out.

met, you going to the games?

I'll go to whatever games I can get tickets to. I also might be able to get an extra ticket to most games from my fiancee's boss.

Are you having to get wired up?

I figure I'll probably just run by the cable company's office and picking up the modem that I need to get going. Much faster than waiting on the cable guy to make an appearance.

ya i need him to run all the wire and everything. he's here now though🙂

also, random city question: should i talk to people that talk to me on the streets or keep walking? lots of people (pretty much all guys haha) have said hi and i've just been responding with a polite hi back but i didn't know if i'm supposed to do that or not.

And if you get anymore extra ticket, you know who to come to ....

Boo you ******. 😛 So jealous. WashU football is just not up to par.

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying hi. But then again, I'm used to that being the norm and I'm not from a big city. Kinda strange that city folk do that. I always thought they were so unfriendly.

make sure you get your account credit for him being late. they are supposed to be getting better about this stuff but guess what.... they are still the most hated company in america for a reason.

before i had comcast, i had adelphia. pretty sure they were the most hated company in america too, at least before they went bust on account of corporate fraud - their remnants were bought by, yes! comcast. :bang:

Hey JJ, last question about the HIDs, I promise.

Good news is I finally got them installed after some technical difficulties over the course of a week, but now that I've got them in and working, I think my bulbs must not be in right or be out of alignment because the beam is very... well not right, lol. Any chance you came across a similar problem...?

Also, along the same lines, I think the problem is steel protector/reflector you put in before the bulb. Mine doesn't fit in there exceptionally tightly, any suggestions for making sure it's in there correctly? Thanks again man, and Bumgarner is a stud!

Try reinserting them. It sort of sounds like they are not in straight.

I didn't have that problem because I had a different headlight part number (i.e. not 9006 or the one you said yours is) that didn't have metal brackets.

Glad to hear you got them working for the most part.

Here I would say hi if someone else said hi. But most people wouldn't say hi. lol

I think I've gotten most of my relaxing out of the way... gonna start getting on a decent sleep schedule before orientation

I think I've gotten most of my relaxing out of the way... gonna start getting on a decent sleep schedule before orientation

I thought that getting a decent sleep schedule would be tough, but my apartment is so bright that I wake up at 9:30 at the latest it seems. When I first moved in, I was waking up at 7:30. I'm not doing the whole sleep at 2:30am and wake up at 1pm thing anymore.

That's good to hear Met. When will your classes start? Mine are at 8 and I'm looking at a 15 minute commute so I gotta get my butt up early

I'm assuming orientation will be going out till 3 and waking up at 7 for a week

Mine start at 8 and it will take me between 10-15 minutes to get to school. Hopefully I can wake up at 7 or 7:15 and be fine.

I'm assuming orientation will be going out till 3 and waking up at 7 for a week

That is what it seems like. Reminds me of Camp Tiger except that was going out til 2 and waking up at 6 for a week.

We have a one day break from orientation before school starts, and it just happens to be my birthday that day. I would like to go out with all my new and old med school friends to celebrate the end of orientation/my birthday and then I can recover that day off. Then class starts on the 18th.

sounds polite enough to me

The people here do that talk to stranger thing and it drives me nuts. I'm sure they all think I'm a jerk since they come up to me and I look at them like I think they're going to rob me or something.

today is a terrible day/
What's wrong?

Nice. Your test for dessert - creme brulee' - go!

I would but it's trivia time!!! Last time we went, we won and got $25 to spend there another trivia night. So we're gonna get smashed ($2 pitchers) and win again!

I wonder what our team name will be. Last time we were John Wilkes Table.

Hilarious 39 sec clip.

moved my furniture in today.

Back to get the clothes/tv/movies sort of stuff. Almost settled in though!

What should I do with my last ~week of freedom?

Chill and get yourself zen. Establish a good sleep schedule, start cooking stuff, get an exercise program if you want one, and find time for your hobbies. Figure out stuff you won't be able to figure out once the **** starts hitting the fan.

After moving into my new apt, I realized how much **** I really own, even though I thought I was only bringing the "essentials."
