Sammich! It's been a long time since you've been on this thread! Good luck on all your finals! We have our Pathology/Immunology/Microbiology finals next week, and then a 2 week break.
 
Figured out why I've never seen a practicing D.O. (and honestly never knew the difference until I'm came here).

Anyway, according to the last data taken (2009), there's only 97 practicing D.O.s in Louisiana.

We have a preceptorship from Jan 10th to the 14th but don't start classes until the 18th.

I followed a couple in the ER in Baton Rouge.
 
We only get two weeks off. But 2/4 of the weeks for this exam have been the definition of cush, so I can't complain.

There was a brawl (actually two, but I was only present at one) at a fast food place on my ugrad campus. Started over someone cutting in line:laugh:.

That would have would interesting to see. After one of the world series games this year, there was a fight that broke out in a McDonald's, apparently over chicken nuggets. It's on youtube.

I am going to be studying all weekend long. It's actually a really interesting module though, so I don't mind so much.
 
The second years lied when they said this last block was the easiest. I don't understand how they expect us to know everything about the abdomen, pelvis, perineum and the entire leg in the time they give us. We just started the leg on Thursday and we have our exam in 10 days.

Basically, we have to learn the entire leg in 1 week. Ridiculous.

I didn't particularly like learning the addomen/pelvis stuff, but the legs aren't so bad because everything is compartmentalized (vessels, nerves, muscles, etc.).

The leg isn't so bad. It's a lot of muscles, but the functions are easy to figure out and innervation is pretty much the same for muscles grouped together.

It is far too early. My flight yesterday got delayed which would have had me stuck in Atlanta so now I'm flying at 655. I'm supposed to get to Atlanta at 810 and catch an 845 layover so that should be interesting.

Long time no post! Have been gone pretty much solely because of our anatomy block. It's crazy to think we've ran through the entire human body in 2 months. I'm so pumped to not smell like formaldehyde after having lab every day. 👍
 
Also, it's so freaking cold here. Low was 8 degrees yesterday and same for today. Snow everywhere. I'm not a huge fan. I like went it snows and then goes away because it gets to 50 degrees by midday.

I cannot wait to not smell like lab anymore! For the first time since middle of August!!! Only 2 more labs (Th and F) and 9 more days until the practical is finished. I can't wait.

Hah yea, but you might surprise yourself. We had to do glutes/thighs/legs/feet in one week too and it seemed overwhelming at first, but that last couple of days before the exam, man, you learn a LOT.
 
yeah I would say that if there's one region you could learn in a week, it's definitely the leg

I can't wait to dispose of my anatomy shoes. I've been wearing these old sneakers and they have sketchy grease stains on them. My table is a little messier than others. 😳 I also can't wait to not do laundry every week.

dingy's right for once. I basically learned the lower limb the weekend before my Tues/Wed test. Good luck met!
 
I'm kinda going to miss anatomy, especially head and neck, but not really. The human body is good stuff, and I mean that in the least sexual way possible.

It is 36 degrees here! Granted, not that cold in the grand scheme of things, but still, it's Miami!
