Uworld is probs higher yield but ideally you'd do both.

There's just not enough time in the day! 🙁 should I just skim uworld really fast (read just the bottom explanation) so that I can expose myself to all of it again.

Why'd I think that I'd get extra motivation during the last week? I want to just curl up and sleep instead. -_-

So, I have 7 days.... UWorld vs FA. I know I should ideally do both, but if I had only time for 1 which would you chose? I'm afraid I won't be able to focus just going through FA, but then I don't want to miss reviewing anything that may not be mentioned/touched on in UWorld. Decisions.... any thoughts guys?

U world for sure, I found the test required a certain level of test taking strategy that you would learn from more practice, and it wasn't too much factual recall.

Don't call it a loss just yet! Everyone walks out of there feeling crushed. You never know how it actually turned out. Congrats on finishing!
 
good to see this thread is still alive...I kinda miss coming back here. I suppose it's prophetic...re-visiting SDN the few days before the step. hahaha.

Exam is tomorrow. Feels like I've been studying FOREVER. I'm glad to just get it over with. Going over my notes and doing some Qbank but taking it easy today. Here's hoping I survive. :xf:
 
Well that was a barrel of fun... couldn't focus on the last section to save my life. Oh well. It's done!!! And I'm drunk!!!
 
Time to start school again.... le sigh. Break was good while it lasted.
 
We have an exam on Friday. 🙁

But in good news, I get to watch soccer tomorrow (and streaming live in class on Thursday) and Sunday!
 
It's nice to see this thread still going strong!

Not once did any upperclassmen mention how hard the last week of studying would be. Each day was more excruciating than the last to get through. Even walking out of the exam you still feel crappy, until several days later it sets in that there's nothing to study and you've stopped trying to remember all of the questions that you might have gotten wrong.

To end on a happier note, congrats to those that have already finished and good luck to those still studying for this behemoth of an exam!!! :luck:
 
Do most students start rotations in the first week of July?
 
Started three weeks ago with a skills bootcamp, and then started rotations on the 18th of June.

I think Family Medicine is a pretty cool guy. Eh treats diabetes and doesn't afraid of anything.
 
Took first clinical shelf (Ob/Gyn) on Friday. WHAT A BEAR! I heeded the advice and studied throughout the rotation and did tons of questions. Still had a tough time. Going to have to step it up. Neuro next.
Oh Met: if you guys have to do Epic training....my condolences and I-know-that-feel-brah, those instructors were such jerks to us the entire time. >:[

What's everyone up to?

I thought OB was the hardest shelf although taking it first didn't help at all; much more medicine than I'd expected.
 
Making me scared now. I'll just do what I can I suppose.

Yeah, we do the training on Monday. It's called PELICAN for us - probably going to suck.

I have surgery shelf first, but not until the end of September. Three weeks of Ortho at Children's, then three weeks of Rad Onc, then six of general surgery between now and then.

As much as I don't want to know, I need to. I can't pretend I wasted 5 weeks of my life on something that I don't even know how I did.

Haha yea, that was my question as well. I'm sure they were intentionally vague.

I had a dream two nights ago that I got a 255 only to find out I was reading a sample score report that told you how to interpret your score. I finally found my score and it was a 209. I woke up soooooo pissed until I realized it was a dream.

Haha no way, I recently had a dream where everyone's scores in my class was posted on a big board and I got a 268, but there were ppl getting 400 lol. Then they called me and said it was a mistake, and they meant to write 212, then I woke up a little in horror and they said it was a mistake again and changed it to 242. I was perfectly ok with not caring about my score til I had this dream...:scared:

This happened to me but I waited until the following Sat so I could check it with the bf. Wise choice, I nearly had a panic attack.

I dreamt that I got 183 on my exam and that there was a serial murderer after me within the same night, guess which dream scared me more. 😛
 
there will be some serious nightmares tonight, I can feel it now
 
No way I'll be able to sleep tonight. I'll probably be in Grand Rounds tomorrow when the email shows up, then in surgery when the scores are posted. Dammit....
