so i looked into my interfolio and found out it was all my fault!! i remember assinging numners to them but they all got delted when i paid grr..but i send it today..interfolio says they will email them tommorow..what is the turnaround time for LORs...how long does amcas take for these?!! anyone know?

Dude, I stopped going to my research meetings. They have trended to money, money, money. My PI was talking yesterday about getting back onto science topics, because he doesn't like where they have been heading either.

We used to have this Fellow in our lab and he would sit in the meeting and do the swooning sleepy head thing the whole meeting. You know, where you fall asleep and you head does a big dip, then you usually wake up... well he never woke up. :laugh:

Accountability is the only good reason for a meeting, and you should be able to cover that in less than an hour.

Yeah, verbal is tough, man. Focus on the authors tone and definitely pay attention to the first paragraph. The author tells you where he's going in that paragraph. The rest of the passage is just filler, contradictory arguments, and details. The tone is in the first paragraph.

ha yeah, probably a little. bronchitis makes it awfully hard to burn calories. or at least hard to do anything that pushes my lungs even a little-- i get winded going up and down one flight of stairs transferring subways on the way to work 🙁

Feel better. It sucks being sick. I just took some phenylephrine hydrochloride before I went to the gym, because my damn nose won't stop running. I'm just getting over mine. I was wondering if I got a staph infection from the gym... But the blisters on my arm started to go away. Go immune system!!!

Ok, realistically, I didn't have a staph infection... But I was worried I did!!! ha ha.

Yeah, no joke. Staph is bad mojo. I did my final presentation on MRSA, and that stuff is mean.

Oh, and that's actually a legitimate reason to hate LSU. 😉
 
Today, right when I was getting off of work, the power went out at my movie theater.
I had 600 screaming Transformer people yelling for their money back right as I was trying to go home. Why couldn't it have happened earlier on in the day, to where I wouldn't have to deal with cleaning all that trash?
Instead, I ended up having to clean Transformers 5 times instead of the 3 I was originally supposed to, and the night crew got off a little easier.

My girlfriend wants to go to Journey that night, but didn't realize that I already requested tickets.
Journey will be around a little while longer and tours frequently, but this is my last season as an LSU student, so I want to savor it. Hell, I would probably even pass up Metallica if they were in NOLA that night.
Plus, she doesn't have to come, I'm sure I can find someone else who wants to go with me.
 
I hope after I get into medical school this year I continue to maintain the relationships I developed with so many of you here in the 2014 thread. You have all had a significant impact on my life and I believe we will all make terrific physicians. The passion I see many of you exhibit in your activities and the way you post have truly inspired me to improve myself. We stand on the shoulders of giants, and we are on the way to setting a strong example for the class of 2015. And we can repeat our advice they will have next year ad naseum.
 
After some browsing of SDN the last 2 weeks or so, I think we have an epidemic.
Diagnosis: MCATS-itis.
Is everyone calling it the MCATs/MCATS now? "My MCATS, taking my MCATs, how well do I need to do on my MCATs?"
They are obviously referring to a single test, for the most part.
I'm not a grammar nazi by any means, but this is starting to piss me off.
It's almost as bad as confusing here and hear, or they're, their and there.

2) You're crazy if you would miss Metallica for an LSUcks game!!! Metallica is supposed to be amazing in concert.:slap:

Well, I've seen Metallica 3 times already, so I probably would see LSU unless maybe Metallica JUST came out with a new CD and it was a road game.

I know!!! Best to just stay away from the MCAT forum. I'll do my best to move all appropriate threads (especially ones that refer to it as MCATs) to that forum. I try to save Pre-Allo for the crazy people who freak when they don't get an email from every school on the first day that the schools have our primaries. :meanie:

You know, I was disappointed to not find any emails today from schools.

And I really plan to not miss any home games for interviews, but I know **** happens, and it's more important.
The only way I could see it happening is if I had a Friday interview really far away and we had a 11am/12pm home game. I would still try, even if it came to taking a midnight flight on no sleep or something.
