And also, my cell phone has apparantly stopped working🙁 I can't make any calls and all I can hear is whatever sounds I make coming back at me. Anyone know how to fix it? My only solution is turning it off and back on which I already tried.

Agreed!! I would think they of all people would understand that we need to be complete ASAP

totally right?! i mean they should be pumping those out ASAP. sheesh they should probably get on SDN more often and realize LOR in early=higher chance of interview

and i love how when you talk to them about it, their response is "no worries, we release them earlier than we did last year. plus, other UGs submit around the time we submit too"

...IDC. i dont go to the other schools and i didnt apply last year. im applying this year and i go to your stupid school.

yeah, I got an email from my committee (they do them by dorm at my UG) last night asking for my AAMC and Letter ID, so hopefully that means they're getting close to uploading mine :-/

either that or they know I dislike my current job and am thus being kind of neurotic about my app :meanie::meanie::meanie::meanie:

btw--anyone else really like just staring at emoticons as they move in sync? Kind of like a lava lamp

Actually still in Denver. Leaving for the airport in like 30 minutes. I'll get home like 6:30 CDT. I hate traveling days. Especially ones that involve 2.5 hour layovers. Maybe I'll work on my UVA secondary in the airport. But I kinda don't want to.

for realsies. i had my committee interview in february and they still haven't sent my letter to AMCAS.

don't work on the secondary-- find yourself a brookstone and sit in a massage chair for an hour. that is WAY better than writing essays 🙂

what do you do at your job??

fill out some secondaries. thats what i do in my downtime at work

Just submitted 2 secondaries I feel so productive! Now I just have to work on the other 3 I'm holding...

I do very little at work (I can PM you w/ my official job description but I don't want to out my true identity on SDN). Thanks to the recession, my old 12-hour-day workload has been reduced to 2-3. I get to sit in my chair and look busy for the remaining hours. I practically have to beg for work to stave off the boredom 😴😴😴

Thus far, I've done GW, USUHS, UChicago, and Jefferson's secondaries at work. Today, as soon as I'm done with my inordinately high workload (I was given 2 excel-monkey assignments instead of 1 today!!!) I'll probably work on the rest of UChicago and maybe start on Gtown....

Ksmi: You're already out of Denver, but the next time you have a long layover there, ride the shuttle back and forth! That was always my favorite passtime at DEN. Safe flight!

i feel you on two counts:

workload being either CRAZY or nonexistent.

denver airport shuttle being SO MUCH FUN.
 
i used to play the sax in middle school and would envy the tuba players cause they got to play an instrument that sounded like it was farting.

i was (still am!) so mature... =P

Jealous!! I wanted to play sax but my mom didn't want to spend so much money on something she wasn't sure I'd stick to. 🙁 So I wound up with clarinet. I love it, but I was supposed to "start with clarinet and switch to the sax in high school"

That never happened. 🙄

your mother is a smart woman. my sax is collecting dust under my childhood bed. i probably should take it out and sell it on ebay or something. the only instrument i have any interest in picking back up is piano.

maybe in med school...🙄

I saw the doctor this morning.....*drumroll*

My testicle has been spared! The swelling has decreased (which I am sad about), and the bruising is beginning to subside. He didn't think there will be any permanent damage. The possibility of Lil' Zaiuses remains! I know you were all so worried that you couldn't work/fill out secondaries. My testicle is thankful for those who sent flowers and get well cards.

haha I started out on trumpet in 6th grade b/c my best friend was going to take the same beginning band class and he played trumpet. We kept up a fun competition for first chair until the teacher got sick of it and moved me to French Horn. I ended up playing french horn through my senior year of college. (as an aside, red, you can play the tuba range on a horn and get the same fart noise :meanie::meanie:)

funny thing is, my friend dropped trumpet in high school to concentrate on singing--i joked with him that he was a quitter. He ended up touring w/ American Idol.

I mean, I play sax (from my grade grubbing days--the only way to get an A+ in band -- and an extra .5 on that GPA -- was to play in the jazz band. I taught myself for that extra .5 . Then I discovered I was a dork) -- you can't make the low, rumbling, passage of gassage sounds, but you can make high pitched, baby fart sounds by inhaling through the reed.


<--name an instrument, and I can make it fart, flutes excepted.

:bang: that could've been my GW greatest achievement!!!
