👍 I guess I'm a little behind the times because I'm just getting complete notifications now, but I'm feeling (irrationally?) nervous about my lack of interviews

I'd kinda just like to know what's in my application that's making every school go, "Oh wow. This kid isn't worth our time." The exception to that is Pitt, but I'm pretty sure that was essentially an auto-interview for stats, given that they interview literally one out of every five applicants.

Sigh.

as for the rest of you who have applied to georgetown, when you preview your essay, does it get rid of blank spaces between paragraphs? is there a way to still get said blank spaces in?

seriously. i feel like i'm in this weird, in between place-- stats too high for GWU/georgetown/NYMC/jefferson/etc to take me seriously, and stats too low for the rest of my schools to take me seriously. come on, schools! i would be thrilled if any of you wanted me!
 
chill out guys, my roommate last year went through the process last year with a > 3.9 and a 42 and this process takes a long long time even for high stats people. some schools pull out applications "randomly" and not in chronological order
 
My professor FINALLY submitted his letter TWO MONTHS late. But of course he lost the coversheet that the advising office needs in order to include it in my file. Given that I live on the opposite side of the country as my school, I cannot just go to his office and give him another one. I now have to call him, get his fax #, fax him a copy, and then he has fax it to the advising office. I've already submitted 20 of my secondaries but of course I'm not complete at any schools because of one incompetent professor. I just want to go over there and do this :diebanana: repeatedly.

I feel like the world has stopped responding to my emails. Seriously. I've submitted two job applications (one 7/20, one 7/27), an important email to a prof re: a paper we're editing, two emails to my premed committe asking wtf (they said they typically send out letters ~2-4 weeks after you "request" them to, i.e. after submitting amcas, and faster if you're earlier. I asked them on 6/3, but nothing yet. Website said they wanted my mcat score, i gave it to them. Any response, at all? No.), and nothing from schools, because they're ignoring me because i'm not complete because i have no LORs. VICIOUS CYCLE all started by my premed committe. oiawjef;oaijdg;o iwe
 
or maybe i just need to post my irritation. the minute i posted that, i got an email from mayo, though all it said was

"Thank you."

I can contribute! 😛 So I e-mailed AMCAS about the fact that they haven't updated my LOR status page for the past 4 business days even though they say it takes 1 day when the letter is submitted electronically via Interfolio. They told me the letter had no AMCAS letter ID... so I logged onto Interfolio, went to my delivery records, and sure enough, it had the correct letter ID entered exactly where it's supposed to be.

What should I do? E-mail Interfolio? E-mail AMCAS again? I already resubmitted the letter yesterday, but it's the exact same thing as before so I don't have much confidence in it getting through. 🙁
 
haha, just 2 job apps? i think the application to response ratio for me was 30:1 after i graduated. working is pretty lame though

yeah, just two.

To be fair though, they are asking for pretty specific qualifications in their applicants, and honestly I fit them to a T. Seriously. That, and there aren't that many other behavioral neuro labs in north-suburban Chicago.
 
hmm thats a bit suspicious

the lab that I was working as a volunteer wanted to hire me. So by federal, state and Penn law, they had to put up a job add and interview candidates that they applied. My PI put up an exact profile to match me. All he had to do was put it up for a week, but within 5 days he got 26 apps. He still had to interview 5 candidates before turning them down and then he was able to hire me.

you should call HR and ask for the PIs numbers to make sure they are actually hiring and that they just didn't put up the ad as a formality. getting a job in this climate is pretty tough

:scared: That's obnoxious. You would think they would take down the posting if once they had the person they wanted.

How long did it take them to finally update your app. and get the letter put on there? I'm just wondering because I can't be complete until they sort this mess out. 🙁
 
I leave for a few days and everyone goes interview crazy@@...i think im not getting the 1st batch of interviews its been silence for days haha..i still have like 2 week old 2ndaries left over to do, i just sorta stoppped caring...🙂

Ok, brooklyn. I did a bit of investigating, found the PI's info, and sent her an email. For some reason, I felt an email would be better than a phone message, today.

Here's to hoping for a response! :xf:

i also just realized today that I'm a long ways away from hearing about interviews. my earliest complete date is july 27th. blaeurggh! :barf:

glad you guys are getting news!! i sent in my wake picture today. i must say...i have been using a rather stunning picture, but im sure ill get remarks about how my photo doesnt do my person justice 🙂
