I'd try opening it with other programs. TextEdit (mac), Open Office, etc. You could also look at Word's AutoRecover files.

Google how to do that, it depends on your version of MS Word, I'm sure.

Ouch! That sounds painful. I still have my wisdom teeth. Every time I go to a new dentist I get the "Wtf?" look when they look into my mouth. ha ha.

on another note...my suit cost 400 dollars...which isnt too bad i guess. But with shoes, tie, dress shirt, belt, and tailoring, it ran like 680....I think i lost 10 years off my life after paying for that. I better get like 6 interviews at least so i get some use out of this thing lol.

😱 Dude, that is expensive!!! I wish I could drop that kind of cash. I think I'm so tapped out that I might have to limit my schools to 5, instead of the projected 10-15...

okay, i'm really frustrated right now. one of my dad's friends is on the adcom at BU, and i met with him in april to get some tips on my application. he assured me and my dad that he would "go to bat" for me, that he could get me an interview and after that it would be up to me. i just got an email rejecting me. i'm not being greedy in this process; i'm THRILLED that i have two interviews already, but this makes me sad and nervous. if i can't get into a place where i have connections, i feel like i'm totes screwed. le sigh.

I think you're probably overqualified for BU. Just based on the sheer number of applicants they reject people they don't think will attend their school. It's an odd thing, but you should take solace in the fact that they think you're too good for them. 😉

thanks. i mean, i know it's just one school and i'm honestly not too broken up about it. it's just my dad's friend... he said outright "i can make sure you get an interview" (no prompting for me, i was just there to get some tips and pointers) and he had me send him my AMCAS # as soon as i had one so he could keep tabs on me. lotta good that did. actually i think my dad is more upset than i am

me too! most are about 90% in, and only one is still at ~75% in. just doesn't want to level off with the other teeth. it's shy 😳

ha don't worry about it. my relative has both of his parents as faculty at a school that he applied to. he had #s > than median of the school, had researched/shadowed at the school, LORs from high ups of that school and didn't get accepted there after numerous people trying to call in.

i guess we never know what these schools exactly want, but i just hope that the med students they pick out really enjoy their time there and are at least friendly to the patient population

I felt the same way with my test. The thought of retaking suddenly made me become very complacent with my score. So far, so good, I guess.

thats still a good score...a 31 is nothing to scoff at, hell i wish i had that score haha im extra fail. Though i know it seems everyone on sdn has a 35+ and makes it seem so easy. Though i think im winnning the most rejections title...haha

thanks elijah. youre right, a 31 is a good score, but ive had to do some major damage control the past few years, and the mcat was going to be my saving grace in this process. so in that light my score is just eh.

i dont get it, the mcat is such a hard test, it took everything from me and then some to get this score...people on this thread just amaze me with their scores sometimes.

i hear ya there! I had to work really hard to go from a 26 to 31. Some people on here make it seem like 35+ (aka top 1 percentile or so) is a cinch to get!

haha given the number of schools you applied to, I guess it only fits you have to get some rejections. Where else have you gotten them besides the ones on your mdapps? Remember, all it takes is 1 acceptance!🙂

ahha yah dude it just is what it is. Just be happy that SDN represents an absolute miniscule minority of pre med applicants. Or people like me and you would never get into medicine ahah.

I have 7 rejections but none that really hurt. They are all top tier schools that would never consider someone like me with a low mcat (i.e mayo, case, vandy) or schools that take a small OOS (i.e univ nebraska, evms) or random schools like boston who seem to hate eveyrone ahha.

The only rejection that hurt a little was wake forest as it was pre 2ndary 🙁. I thought id at least get a freakin 2ndary there. I guess since i applied to 48 schools it shouldnt be all that surprising in light of my mcat lol. Sometimes i feel like creighton is the only school who will interview me so i better rock this ****
