August is boring for my inbox

I was thinking the opposite would occur -- folks will get too busy doing schoolish stuff that they won't have time for sdn 🙁. Makes me kind of sad to think about -- y'all brighten up my terrible, terrible job 🙂

Yeah, i was thinking it would get quiet, too, but i'm just hoping it doesn't stall completely. i'll be too bored. right now at work, my tuesdsays and half of mondays are SOOO boring. absolutely nothing to do. but i have a meeting at 2, and plates to coat after that. blah.

Source: Favre Expected To Sign With Vikings Today ReportingMark Rosen MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ―
A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday.

Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.

WCCO-TV spoke with an official at the Hattiesburg, Miss., airport, who saw an airplane with the Vikings logo leave the airport Tuesday morning. The flight number for that plane has been blocked from tracking systems.

Speculation that Favre would be joining the Vikings roster abruptly ended in late July when head coach Brad Childress said the quarterback would remain in retirement.

On July 28, Childress said that he received a phone call from Favre and announced the quarterback would remain retired, though now it appears that declaration was perhaps a bit premature.

Favre spent 16 years with the Green Bay Packers before playing for a year with the New York Jets. His first team was the Atlanta Falcons, where he played two games his first year. In 18 seasons, he has 464 touchdowns, more than 65,000 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 85.4. He's also thrown 310 interceptions in his career.

Favre originally retired from the Green Bay Packers on March 4, 2008.

That same July, he sought release from his contract so that he could play for another team and the Packers accused the Vikings of tampering by talking to Favre. Though they did talk, the Vikings were ultimately cleared of the tampering charge.

Favre then reported to Packers training camp, but was traded to the New York Jets in August.

Favre was released by the New York Jets earlier in May, clearing the way for him to sign with any team willing to take him. Talks between Favre and the Vikings about him joining that team began almost immediately.

Speculation flew as doctors examined Favre's injured biceps tendon, which hampered Favre down the stretch the previous season.

Favre was born Oct. 10, 1969 in Gulfport, Miss. He will turn 40 during this football season.

Guess it does pay to take a break from SDN.

I spent most of this morning moving things into my apartment. Come home to find 2 of my last 3 secondaries and an interview invite from EVMS!

I still have yet to take an SDN break. But my life is still in order, so...🙄

Congrats!

So I think from the results of this cycle so far, it's safe to say that...
Louisiana rules - and we're not stupid.
😛 to the haters.

Now I'm going to go put on my hip boots and go a-mudbug-catchin'

It's a tiny lobster.

they had em at the buffet in Harrah's Las Vegas. We couldn't figure out how to eat em. I felt like a yankee 🙁

I agree with Luun. I got off SDN and started writing my secondaries this afternoon -- complete at UNC and should be expecting an interview coordinator to contact me soon to set up an interview 😀. Makes me want to sing Rah rah Carolina-lina--go to hell State! 😉

I should be packing right now... but I'm too lazy. I need to move to my apartment tonight.
I also have a ton of things I should be doing, or should have done today.
Life is far too busy right now, and school hasn't even started yet.

Damn straight. But it's not mudbug season!

Invite from LSU-New Orleans today. I feel like I should be happier but all day practice is really getting to me. I have 30 minutes before I have to be back again. Currently scarfing down some dinner. (Yes, dinner at 4 PM... after having lunch at noon... so stupid)

Quick Question: how long does it take you guys to finish the secondary essays for each school?
if there are like 1-2 prompts id say 1-3 days, but i have rough drafts of most of them pre written...for the ones that i did not have pre written id say a week or so. Id write it down in 1-2 days, then just sorta edit it a bunch over the next few days until i like it. Some like rush and loyola, i ended up taking like 12 days or so just because its soo long and there are sooo many essays

Well then they lied to me - they said they wouldn't start handing out invites until September. Well, whatevers - no big deal. I have other things to worry about right now.

honestly it takes me longer to cut characters from my essays than write them

ok so i am not alone on this. 🙂

Yeah, Brett Favre is *special*

But since we're from the same state and all, maybe I can cut him some slack. I mean really, I think a year or four in Minnesota would be nice... 😀

Anyhow, mudbugs are great. They do not like the NY cold though, so no soup for me. Oh well.

Brett Favre. :barf:

At this point, I like Michael Vick much more than I like Favre.

I'm back from the Iowa State Fair, sorry I was gone so long. 😛 Got an interview invite from the University of Chicago while checking my e-mail on a trial Blackberry at the Verizon booth. The staff member helping me was very confused at my elation, she said something like, "I'm glad you like the phone so much..."

So many people getting invites today. And none for me.:scared:

whats with the farve hate serious, so hes just like every other star athlete, they dont want to give it up and wont until thier bodies literally cant do it anymore and they are forced out. Personally i could care less...though the vikings at least might have a chance if farve can stay healthy. God knows jackson and rosenfels were just a waste of space lol.

I hate the fact he keeps switching his mind. If you want to play, then play. If not, get the hell out. Be a man and stick by your decision, stupid fool!

You also got to feel for Rosenfels and Jackson. They don't know what to do because of this Favre saga.

i feel for them but you have to admit they are not starting qbs, they are backups at best and they have no talent. Vikings would have just been bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs like always if it were them.

So elijah, do you think adding Favre and dropping Matt Schaub would be a wise move?😳

just got a case interview. that's 5. great day.

they interviewed Jackson. he was pissed. Rosenfels looked fine. I think Jackson knows he has no shot at #2 now.
