Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is NOT to say that if you come to med school straight out of college you'll be an annoying tool!

No... But it's very likely...

I love working with people who know absolutely nothing about medicine. It's so refreshing.

I lost my previous ones.👎

Do all your schools require them? I didn't see that on any of the secondaries I've received. I haven't had a chance to thoroughly read through them, but still... I didn't see it.

Aww, that's my goal.
Nah, I see where you're coming from with that.

I don't really hang out with many pre-meds at all, actually - it's very refreshing. You people are the only pre-meds I talk to.
The interviewees I met the other day were awesome, friendly, and down-to-earth. I hope I came off the same way , and I only hope they're the same at other places, but I guess people can't all be like that.

your photos, I mean. Smalls? I never heard that before, what does it mean?

White House: Obama MAY detail health plans SOON

On the 9 month journey to giving any details whatsoever, announce their arrival with the most inexact language possible.

Not really. I know he used horizontal rear dropouts, so that made things a little tougher. I can't remember why that is.

Here it is. It's the best I could do. Almost everything on it is white:

I'll ask him to send me some better pics.

Yeah that's sweet.

I think vertical dropouts are supposed to be more difficult to use because they don't provide a way to tension the chain.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

This is priceless!!!

I agree with what you said Mayo student, but I can relate with what brooklyn is saying too. I toured UF's med school with a friend in the program now and he expressed some of the same sentiments about his classmates- he personally took 9 months off from the program to travel and work, and now he says he appreciates school much more... i think its important to have real life experiences... school isnt everything although some people go through life like that. I feel like a lot of people go into medicine with their blinders on, with tunnel vision set on becoming a doctor and not stopping to look at the scenary on the way.

Interviews starting and tons of school work, I'm getting so stressed.🙁

This is soooooo true!

:scared: I have so much stuff to do between now and when I leave for Seattle on Friday... At least I'm not busy in my dreams when I sleep... 😴
Happy interview news tomorrow, everybody - I have a good feeling?
:luck: :xf:

Don't sweat it, man. You'll be fine. Just treat it like any other semester. For interviews it's key to just be yourself and be confident. Outside of that, it's in their hands so it's not worth worrying about anyway. 😉

I was too scared to post here earlier (due to previous MCAT score) but I am feeling a bit more confident that I will receive an acceptance somewhere now.

Hello fellow '14ers! Good Luck to us all in this crazy process

Awesome improvement, man! Good luck!

good morning!

three straight mornings of opening my gym at 5:15. pretty tired, but still pushin along. now about to go to my full-time job.

nice! I did that yesterday and planned to do it today...until I stood up at 5:15, bent over to pick up some gym shorts, and realized my quads were absolutely SHOT -- even now 3.5 hours later I'm walking like the Tin Man.

For those of y'all with Golds Gym memberships (or access to Les Mills' programs), the Body Pump class is the hardest lift I've done since pre-season track practice in college. And I never lifted more than 50lbs.

Morning Blue! You're up early -- you in DC?

working out in the morning is great...but getting up to work is blah. have to pay attention and stuff. thank goodness i'm a morning person for the most part. i go for a run right after my shift though, so it's cool.

this body pump sounds interesting. i just picked up this P90X workout thingy, been hearing a lot of reviews about it.

well, off to the airport. When I post again, I'll be in the capital. Hope everyone gets bunches of interview invites today!:luck:

P90X kicks your butt as well, but I can't do a pull-up to save my life 🙄 -- a large part of the program centers on pull ups.

Body Pump was great because it's weightlifting that feels like cardio (P90X feels the same way) -- and there's a group of people doing it together, so my competitive side comes out. I can't allow myself to push less weight than the 35-year-old soccer mom two stations down from me, so I push myself harder than if I were doing it alone.

If you're going to do the P90X nutrition guide as well as the workouts, make sure you buy eggs by the gross -- my friend went through 2.5 dozen a week (mostly calls for egg whites).
