So, I got my first rejection a week or so ago from VCU. Just checked my e-mail and found out that that was a system error. Apparently I'm not rejected??

And interview invite to NYMC!

so guys, im trying to pick a date for my nymc interview: id like to set it up with at least some of you guys. when are you guys interviewing at nymc?

I don't know yet. It seems they only interview during the week. I might have to put it off until this winter break. It'd give me time to visit NYC 👍
 
I'm getting sick of this application crap. I have one more secondary to do, but I don't know if I can write any more garbage about how sweet/smart/amazing/unique I am.

well, they have to be somewhat related, right? otherwise why are they both Baylor? Harvard College is in Cambridge, Med in Boston. U of Arkansas is in Fayetteville, AR while UAMS is in Little Rock -- sorry, it happens sometimes 🙄 😛

so, I didn't apply to Baylor Med, because I figured I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in Houston of getting in. Though my joke was even less funny the second time around 🙁

if y'all are betting for scrubs, you might want to stipulate new vs. gently used? otherwise, that could get pretty gross 😛

Interviews today seemed to go well. Hope they like me! They need someone soon and said they need to decide how many people they want to interview.
 
Holy crap. What a weekend. So tired. :scared:
Flight out of Baton Rouge to Dallas was cancelled on Friday, so FML I have to drive to New Orleans for a 6am Sat morning flight. End up in Seattle at about 1:30-2ish for the UW game - tired as all hell.

Everything closes in Seattle really early or just in general on Sundays. It was also quite odd being in the Pacific Time Zone, the scenery was quite amazing, though.

The damn hotel made me pay for internet, so I didn't use it. I don't get how Holiday Inn gives you free wireless but the W Seattle makes you pay $40 for 4 days of wired? So did all of the airports that happened to be along the way. WTF? Going 4 days without internet and SDN really sucked :laugh: but at least I knew that no med schools needed to talk to me.

Just got into BR 9 this morning - first class started at 9, been flying since 11 PDT last night. Skipped first two classes, barely made it through the last one. 2 hours of sleep...

Sorry for the novel, guys, just haven't posted in a while. :laugh:

Yeah, good luck with that!
This week is actually my one week to catch up this month.
Next week is when the September craziness starts. 2 interviews in 4 days, one the next week, and a football road trip in between.
Unfortunately, I will have missed at least one class every week (except the first week) all the way through midterms. :laugh:
Therefore, :xf: hoping for October 15th-ish acceptance so catching up in classes isn't as important!

haha definitely:
this friday= drive from NY-> Richmond, VA
mon= drive from VA->DC for interview, DC->NY
thurs=drive from ny-> vt and back, flight to NC
fri=drive from NC->VA in rental car
sun=drive back from VA->NC, flight from NC->NY
mon=drive from NY->PA at 4am, then drive back to NY that night


yikes im scared!

Now that's intense! But, at least you'll have a few knocked out in about a week.

That sounds a lot better. For some reason I'm trying to think of my weekend thing as mini-vacations, but I've just recently come to realize that I usually use my weekends to catch up/keep up/get ahead with schoolwork. We'll see how that goes....

i used to hang out here back a few months ago and then i got a 24 on the mcat. had to retake it and have been too scared to see daylight until now. i dont know how i did but i hope its enough to get a interview.

Yeah, I remember you from back in the really early days of the thread, before I even started posting much. I'm sure you did really well, and will be able to join this thread with confidence soon.

i improved by 3 points and too scared to take it a third time. I got a consistent score and think I should just keep running with it.

haha yeah I took my MCAT, did poorly and had to do it again. Now I work as a volunteer at the local hospital and am keeping busy, and positive. It's good to be back.
