Haha no worries; it's just, it's not even just Lakers fans. At least Spurs-Lakers are rivals. I just don't get why fans of pretty much every team I run into everywhere have such visceral negative reactions to the Spurs 😕

the guy was very ordinary looking...not worthy of the wifey if you ask me. shes definitely cheatin on him sometime soon/within the next 3 years.
 
i mean spurs are good and all. but the style is so boring and dry.
 
i actually like the spurs style of play and the championship pistons. that was great basketball and good coaching. but i think spurs run is coming to an end. tim is a great player and im a fan of david robinson. i like manu, finley and even bowen but cannot stand parker

I get that. So I would understand if people aren't fans. What I don't get is the active DISLIKE people seem to feel towards them.

Give them a watch this year, though. As the team gets less Tim Duncan-centered and more Tony Parker-centered, they should be more interesting.

Parker is lame. He only scores because people don't want to waste fouls when he drives. And if they do, he's money at the line. He'll always get that call because of his height. He can't shoot that well. Improved, but still not a great shooter.

i dont think hes a great passing point guard either really. i think he fits the san antonio system well. but the san antonio system is Tim Duncan, who I think is the greatest (most skilled) PF to play the game

I was telling everyone who would listen that Bowen was our 3rd most important player in 2003 and 2005, not Parker.

Honestly, I say that they're becoming less Duncan oriented and more Parker oriented, but I truly believe that's mostly to just limit the miles Duncan picks up throughout the year. Come playoff time, Tim is still gonna be the man; Parker is just good as a 2nd or 3rd banana to keep the other teams honest.

shame that there is only 1 good team left in Texas now.

speaking of project runway, some kid from that show came to this clinic i was at to get tested. people were going crazy. i dont know who he is though

considering they are all gay, in one way or another, i cant really help you narrow it down. if you gave me a defining characteristic (i.e. black, anorexic, metrosexual, transexual) i might be able to help identify them so you can sound semi-informed in front of your female colleagues, maybe lay some punani

Don't sleep on the Mavs. I actually think they're going to be mediocre, but they've got a very high ceiling if Jason Kidd gets Shawn Marion to play anywhere close to how Steve Nash got him to play. They have a lot of talent on that roster, we'll just have to see if it comes together or not.
 
You know why I hate the Spurs so much, gospurs? I actually used to be Suns fan, and I can never forgive Spurs for breaking Suns' heart so many times.
 
when did Shawn Marion end up on the Mavs. im not a fan of Marion though, good fantasy player

I hate the spurs because they prevented a possibly dominating grant hill, tmac, duncan combo on my Magic 🙁

Actually, we've owned the Suns so many times... I don't even feel worried at the end of games if it's close. The Spurs are just so in the Suns' heads, I know the Suns will choke it.

Sign-and-trade over the summer. Picked up Drew Gooden, Tim Thomas and Quinton Ross too (all serviceable role players).

drew gooden huh, he has some good games. he could totally screw up some games too. i like the spurs this year. la san antonio i look forward to. but a healthy Pau is just too much for anyone in the league right now.

i would like to say that he was the most consistent and effective player for the lakers minus the last 2 series of the playoffs

If it weren't for Robert Sarver (not paying Joe Johnson, selling draft picks, refusing to get actual players for the 9th-11th spots on the roster), they'd have at least 2 titles.

steve is a talented passer. not as good as Kidd in his prime though. i think kobe deserved that MVP over Nash
 
story:

im at nymc last week and the adcom assistant comes into the room and starts braggin about the school. at the end of his schpeel, he comments on how he doesnt appreciate SDN comments about nymc and how its a safety for most applicants and that a third of the new class each year chose nymc over some other school. ksmi reminiscence number uno.

next walks in a 4th years, talks about nymc, how much she loves it, all while choking back a grimace, then proceeds to bash SDN and all the characters who frequent it. up until that point, i was very open minded about the school. then she ruined it. i had half the mind to stand up and say something about it. instead i asked her what she regretted most about her decision and when it included the words "westchester county" i snickered, knowing that she wasnt being honest and that she only got one acceptance.
