Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You know, I'd totally be okay with not getting another invite, but...

It'd be nice to get some more. I still have 8 schools I haven't heard much from. It's been quiet on the non-interviewed schools front lately.

Well I need more 😛 ... 1 isn't comfortable enough.

Silence from 21 schools thus far (of 24) but I was complete at most at the end of august or (few) early September.

you'll like sinai a lot. the location is unbeatable to me. anything attached to central park >>>>

remember when anquan boldin got knocked out against the jets last year pretty early? he went to the ER at sinai

yeah, i want to live in NY.

damn UCSD is in a nice place. i got the mstp secondary and it was too much to fill out. would have loved to live there though.

you would still like MSSM a lot. cheap tuition for OOS, cheap living, bigger city, a semi optional testing system, whatnot

sd is the best place ever...im definitely biased though

Zona i always wondered, do you DJ?

No I don't, but I would LOVE to. I don't have any equipment or don't know how I would even get started.

I've produced a few things using digital music software (such as Ableton Live and FL Studios) but this was when I was in HS and during early college. I really wish I could go back and work on it some more but it takes a lot of time to become comfortable and familiar with the software.

The piano is keeping me musically busy now... I will miss it so much if I get accepted somewhere and have to leave (a keyboard is no where near the same).

how is Upper East Side? So it's like one of the wealthiest places in the nation, I heard.

richest part of nyc. but there is a lot of averaging involved and it has a lot to do with central park where 5 BR apartments can go for $40 million.

not as much to do as soho/village, but compared to any other place in the world >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> there is a **** load to do there. if you are comparing between NYC there are different places

plus its 20 blocks from spanish harlem (which i like), so you will get good patient exposure

so sinia gets a good mixture of UPE residents and spanish harlem people to its hospital?

i wish i could play any instrument at all. i really wanted to DJ too. like you said that euro electro scene is hot now.

reminds me of the time when I was in undergrad. my roomate was a sick piano player and produced beats. we were outside and some dude saw his keyboard and asked him what kind it was. he gave him his biz card and told him to call.

turned out it was Ryan Leslie (the guy that produces for Cassie, Puff daddy and so on... got a 1600 on his SATs at the age of 14 graduated harvard at 17, his stuff on youtube is amazing). i dont think they ended up doing anything together but still cool nontheless

This video makes me laugh every time I watch it. And I've been watching it for months.

That's awesome. Electro "concerts" are the funnest ever. The energy is insane... I almost feel awkward at other (low key) concerts now as I'm so used to raging and just going crazy instead of awkwardly just standing there at other low energy concerts. Lame.

assuming OOS for both, MSSM or UCSD?
I'd go for MSSM. But that's mostly off my distaste for warm weather and that I know more people in NYC.

Richest in NYC, I dunno about the whole nation. It's definetly a really nice place. IMO it doesn't have as much character as some of the other NYC neighborhoods though.

Alrighty, it's about time for me to peace out. You west coast people keep me up later than I should be.

Palm Beach, FL has the highest concentration of wealth in the country, last time I checked.

yea i need to go man. i dont know if i can keep up though. that justice video on youtube looked crazy

Although people tell me SD isn't that hot. But I look at where it is on the map and don't belive them.

SD is 300 days of 75 degrees, light breeze and sunny skies. 15 days of rain/year. 30 scattered days of inland hotness (~90 degrees at absolute most along coastline). and the rest are minor variations on the above.

Justice was crazy in the crowd... especially because I was so close to the cross. People starting pushing and everyone was crammed. I was so bruised and my shirt was ripped after haha. So worth it.

You might also like Boys Noize, if you haven't heard of him. '& Down' is nuts.

I'll have to check it out one day. I have a relative that's allways trying to get me to fly out to SoCal, I'll probably give in at some point.

Hahah I love that you know Justice/Daft/mstrkrft. Usually no one knows who they are (minus Daft).

I'm off to bed 😴 -- Good luck tomorrow 👍

kanye's dj a-trak is pretty sick with his remixes too. ive honestly been checking out that alternative fusion type music (MIA/Gaga/Stanto/Lykke Li) a lot recently too. weird but good stuff

I am staying in the worst hotel I've ever been in. Internet keeps cutting off, small, dirty, no ironing board, and no parking. WTH?

YES. Pretty sure we have the same taste in music.

All of those artists are awesome. I like every track on santigold's album. Easily one of the best new artists of last year.

Also, I use HYPEM.COM to find new remixes and tracks (usually under the popular tab). Such a great site.

Ok. Back to bed...

i can't sleep either!! and i also never have problems with this. i think it's 'cause i went to bed at 9:45 last night

Speaking of, my new dj equipment came yesterday. A numark ns7. Thing is a monster. Have been waiting for it since I ordered it in June. A great present to cone home to after a long day of interviewing. Now I just gotta wait for my new table. DJing is definitely one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. fiscally because it is a quick and dirty $200-400, and mentally because few things compare to laying that one track at the perfect moment and hearing the crowd go nuts. maybe helping someone as a doctor, but just maybe 😛. You guys should look into it if you have time.
