Neither.

So my roomie had ice cream she said I could have. And when I was scooping it, my spoon broke. Weird.

karma. That's what you get for the taunting...

:meanie:

Word. This is what happens to mean people who complain about FREE things that they are given 😡

haha Luun, I like that avatar. It's like, "why a frog? I wanted a medical school acceptance."

Good Luck dw! 👍 (I just remembered there is a character on Arthur named DW. I'm such a loser.)

Just asked to see if my micro test could be pushed back a day. It was an option that I initially declined, but now I want it. :xf:

Chloraseptic = awesome.

I love chloraseptic. I numb the **** out of my throat when it hurts. At one point, I think I was addicted to it. Ah well!

That's probably what I should look like. I eat 1.5qts+ of ice cream a week😀. Best food ever.

So unfair!! If I were to do that, I would surely become a blimp.

You guys ever been to a Coldstone?? Mmmmm....

ice cream over candy anyday

Tough call, but I must disagree. I love that I can take my time eating candy, savoring each bite. Not the case with ice cream.

Good luck, dw!

I wish I had interviews this week to take my mind of everything. But it will be nice having a bye week in football. No stress and all the bad things that come with being a hardcore fan. I can just watch the other games and enjoy the sport in pure form. It's tough.

So, I have a question. I don't really feel like starting a new thread over it... (but if you think that's necessary, let me know)...

I am currently enrolled in Genetics. I taking classes this semester to complete a second degree in Political Science (I already completed my Speech Communication degree and Political Science minor last May). I have all A's in my other classes, and in Genetics I am at a B average right now. Under normal circumstances, I would be just fine with this. However, I have calculated by GPA with a B, and if I have even 1 B (or B+) this semester, I lose my Summa Cum Laude status.

Here's the question: should I drop the class? I really have no attachment to it other than what it may look like to Adcoms. In all honesty, I will probably continue going to the class to learn the material, but I don't want that B to mess up my 3.9.

What are your thoughts?

they wont really care if you drop it. your GPA is pretty stellar so i think they will skip over. maybe u can change the grading to audit or pass fail.

WOOOO SOME INSURANCE RUNS, FINALLY
i love robinson cano

go yanks!!!😀 i love cano too, he definitely gets overshadowed with a-rod/jeter/teix, etc but he's a really awesome player and deserves some credit. Such a great sports weekend for me-giants and hokies crush their opponents, patriots and redsox lose, and yanks sweep!😍

good luck at aecom tomorrow!!

Um, I don't think it'd be that impressive that you took it. But a W might be weird for them to see. And really, a few days after you graduate the summa cum laude thing won't matter as opposed to magna cum laude.

Or you could bring your grade up to an A.

It doesn't matter. Take it if you like the material, drop it if you care about summa. In all honesty, in a year's time no one is going to care if you got summa or magna.

Do you have another semester to make it up? If so, then don't drop it. If not, I don't think schools will see the drop unless you specifically update them or they specifically ask you to update them with a transcript.

I'm kind of in the same situation as you. I don't care what happens with my grades, I just (for personal reasons) don't want to lose my whatever laude thingy I'm at right now. I'm not going to bust my ass to move up, either.

It's really something you gotta decide for yourself. How bad do you want that summa cum laude? Personally, I kinda want it, just for all the work I've put in. I don't know if I would drop a class to get it, though. Are you not taking classes next semester?

Well, I get my Political Science degree this December, so no. But, I really wouldn't need to make it up because it doesn't count for really anything in my degree. It's just an extra class I signed up for, nothing more than that. All it does count for is my GPA.

I don't think it'll hurt you if you do drop it. But I agree with the others that you won't care about the Summa in a few short months.

Nope, no classes next semester. So, whatever grades I get this semester are the final say on my GPA.

Maybe the key is if you legitimately think you can't get an A without killing yourself. It is your last semester of (kind of) undergrad. Have fun. Just make sure you can explain it to schools, later. But you might not have to.

Your call ultimately.

I feel for you guys. It was painful for me to do anything scholastic for my last 1.5 semesters of college.

haha same here-last semester i made my schedule with class on tuesdays and thursdays only, i was such a slacker but it was amazing!

I do agree with this assessment. Definitely do what it takes to have some fun before you're done, drop whatever BS work you can, IMO. But do it so you can have fun, not for the sake of summa.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering as to how to answer this question:

If a patient requested of you a procedure that is both legal and medically safe but that conflicts with your personal code of ethics, how would you handle it?

I am not sure how I feel about it yet

I would inform of pros and cons, say I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it personally and refer if necessary. That's probably not how I would say it in an actual interview, but the gist.

refer her to another doctor

I think I'd just refer them to a physician that has no issues with doing the procedure. The only time this would get tricky is if you're the only doctor in a rural area for 100's of miles, then I think I would do the procedure because I wouldn't want to inflict my own personal beliefs on my patients.

Hmmm... Good question... Referral?

This. It's not my place to make decisions about their health based on my belief system, but it's not like I'm the only doctor in the world; they can find someone else who can give them what they want.
