I was a bit peeved when I noticed my highest percentile on the MCAT was in the section that matters the least. :laugh:

At one interview, I heard that my PS was excellently written... rejected :laugh:

As usual, try not to take compliments or criticisms too seriously; half the time, they're looking for the reaction.

I'd like to... the only time I ever did it before was a couple years ago when I came in second, and I would've won the whole thing if my first round pick (Shawn Marion) hadn't been 1) traded to Miami mid-season (not a first-round pick outside of the Suns system) and 2) gotten "injured" while they tanked to get a top 3 pick 🙄

Oh, I take nothing for granted, but my PS has been cited in every interview...I don't think these people are blowing smoke.

But as to how it affects the Adcom decision? I don't know...

I'm not really following, but I seem to remember that it's Paul.

That was the other reason I almost won--got Paul in like the 2nd or 3rd round and that was the year he blew up. I also got Deron Williams, so I was stacked at PG.

so this was weird. i go to the page listing sdn members by # of posts. i decide to randomly look at a page, just for kicks, you know. so i pick page 159. and the people on that page have 159 posts. coincidence??
 
that movie 2012 looks pretty sick. Might go and watch it.

Come 2012 and the world ends, we would still be 2nd years med students.

Have you ever noticed that right around the time that big movies are released like that the media subliminally promotes those films? Here's what I mean:

1) Discovery/History/National Geographic channels all show background information on the story line, without necessarily connecting the dots to the movie itself
2) FX/TNT/USA channels all show movies with the same actors from that new film in it, also without connecting the dots to the new movie
3) Celebrity gossip shows all start reporting about the actors in the movie, once again without connecting it to the movie itself

There are more examples. It's a marketing strategy most definitely, but I still find it very interesting.

Well, it's been a fun few months (and nerve wracking), but I have to take the SDN hiatus so that I can stay sane and not worry about doing 12 things at once tomorrow (and maybe Friday).

That being said, :luck: tomorrow. I hope everyone gets some GREAT news and that we can all just kick back and relax from here on out. 👍

Oh, and about that "first to five" chocolate/candy bet. I propose the following:

Everyone keep track of the time of day that you receive (not check e-mail, etc.) your notifications. At some point (maybe Saturday at noon?) we can all post the times of those that we got accepted/rejected/waitlisted, and the first person to have received 5 acceptances gets the goods. Sound alright?

Honestly, after the Wake Forest fiasco I doubt I'll be getting my address out to people via FB or whatever, but hey, you never know...but here's to hoping for at least one! :xf:

I don't mean to imply that it WILL happen, but that IF IT SHOULD (by some ridiculous miracle) that the rules have been laid out.

That's all.

Nothing meant by it. I'll just be happy if A) I hear from a few schools and B) if I am not rejected by all of them...

Find out soon enough I guess.

he got rejected because one of the interviewers (out of 3) didnt like him🙁
