Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Withdrawing from schools is weird.

I just canceled an upcoming interview at a school that I am no longer interested in, and it felt good.

But I did not do the whole "I am withdrawing..." thing - I will do that later. I didn't want there to be any confusion regarding the interview since it is in a week.

I am thinking about withdrawing from further consideration at 2 schools where I have already interviewed, but not heard anything, just because I have zero interest at this point. Less than zero...

The great thing about getting a key acceptance is that I control the game from this point forward. I don't care if I don't get any more interviews...suits me fine, saves me $.

It should read something like this:

Ksmi has chosen her schools for the 2009 entering class. I wish to express my appreciation for your interest in me and your willingness to be invite/consider me for an interview. I regret that I was unable to give you additional consideration and feel that you should not interpret this as any indication of your suitability for a candidate like me. It is more a reflection of the number of offers I have received this year.

If you have acceptances from other capable candidates, I wish you the very best of luck and hope you will think of me when you consider your graduate medical education candidate choices. If I can be of any assistance in your future planning, do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely yours,

Ksmi, future MD

oOOOO WAIt. Let me type up a withdraw letter.

Don't bother, she won't listen; she doesn't like the way I suggested she end her letter 😛

Haha nice... Will this sports talk continue all year? Are you guys interested in basketball as much as you are football?

UM... 😀

dang, you noticed

umm i would assume so, i'm not terribly interested in basketball, but when football ends that'll do. Spurs and elmo are big fans, so they'll be chirping a lot.

I'm a big fan; Elmo likes Kobe and likes pissing me off but doesn't know what he's talking about. bblunder is another big fan, though.

"Hugs and kisses, Kissme" doesn't have the professional tone I'm going for.

Eh, who cares, you're not going there anyways. 😛

Mine does! I know it's professional, because schools sent me a bunch of similar letters last year 🙄
There was a bad typo in one my rejections last year. I bet they sent it to >1000 applicants before they noticed.

I think Pats will reach 70 points.😱

This is looking like a basketball game.

Due to the number of schools that expressed substantial interest in my application, I am unable to answer questions about my decision. However, I believe that if you talk to your committee, refer to sdn, you may find answers on how to improve your institution to better accommodate a boss like me.

fixed the last line

hell yea i cant wait for this bball season. in my opinion its a huge season for the leage

Yep. Great season if you're a fan of one of the five teams with a chance to win it all or a fan of great teams, as there is probably more talent concentrated in the top teams this year than any year for a while. Maybe not so much if you're just a die-hard fan for one of the other teams, but meh.

The one I copied from was from Cincinnati, and they seem to have an aversion for the word "that".

yea but if you are a fan of pro ball and good talent, you get to see ability really condensed into the end of the season (hopefully)

i'm pleasantly surprised by the raiders and eagles game. what's wrong with philly?

I like it, the ending is more like some other schools, who refuse to review your application.

We need to tell schools off...LIKE A BOSS.

she should follow up with random spam brochures with our mdapps accounts being like please consider these people...

and then just send an app to their dermatology residency program with her AMCAS

Exactly. That's what I was trying to say with my "concentrated talent" statement. The only thing I'm worried about is all of those teams have injury issues; I hope we don't wind up having another season like last year where the champion was partially determined by which contender had the fewest injuries, but you know those things always play a role.

yup. i think most team could handle 1 injury on their team, minus the celtics - if they lose KG, its done

Spurs need all of their stars to have a chance to keep up with the Lakers. Though I think you said you don't really give them much chance this year, so you might not be thinking of them.

no i said the Lakers are 1. and Spurs are 2. and i think spurs would be the only one to contend the lakers. I think they could do without a fully healthy manu, as long as they get the best tim duncan and a not so passive or ******edly aggressive richard jefferson

if spurs make the finals, they got it on lock though. i think some east coast teams could beat LA, but doubtful

Boise needs to join the PAC-10, along with 1 other team. Make it a competitive conference, split it into 2 divisions for conference championship game. Money for everybody!

The WAC would get screwed so bad with that, but the Big East had a similar thing happen to them when Miami, VT and BC all left in the same year. They kind of recovered until Pat White graduated.

Can I wear my Welker jersey @ my georgetown interview tomorrow? or should i stick w/ the business suit? I'm really tempted to do it.

big east is pretty bad. counting on rutgers pitt wvu and lousiville is eghhh. they did have the 3-4 years of really GREAT NFL talent though

looks like the pats are taking their frustrations out on the titans after taking a crap on the field last week against stupid denver.

you're a lucky man this week. My opponent has both Brady AND Welker. Just great.

My opponent has Moss, so Brady is basically just canceled out. I don't know how it happens but it seems like every single week I have the second most fantasy points, but play the guy with the first most. :smack:

I just think they deserve a better conference. Look what happened when they went from DI AA to DI A, they continued doing well. Now if they can move to a better DI A conference, they'll improve even more. I grew up in Boise, and I used to go to all their games. I've even played soccer on the blue turf.

I would like to see a BCS conference with Boise, TCU, Utah, BYU, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, and maybe La Tech.

I'd just keep them and see what happens.

I wish they had left Brady in.

That game is supposed to be on here, but it's a stupid infomercial. 👎

:lame: not a fan of welker, or recent georgetown athletics. you are cooler than that caniac, tsk tsk

pats always try too hard to prove a point that they could break all offensive records but are classy enough not to. pretty lame

Ah OK, cool.

Actually, I really, really like the Magic. I think the Spurs match up poorly against them. Everyone seems to see the Magic as a step behind in the East but I think that's a big mistake. Matchups will be huge in the East; I think Cleveland can beat Boston, who can beat Orlando, who can beat Cleveland. Getting the number one seed is gonna be big.

Remember how the West used to be soooo much better than the East? I think the tables have turned, beginning last year. After the Lakers, everyone has question marks. Cavs, Magic, Celts are all legit.

After the top 3, though, the west is a lot deeper. And the Cavs, Magic and Celts have their own question marks--KG, Shaq, and Jameer Nelson are all injury risks.

i guess it depends on which teams improve their game rather than just add to it. if dwight improves his game, that would be amazing. if VC fits and does something about it, would be ridiculous.

but idk, VC has never been like that though. He might be the most athletic guy in the NBA but just way too passive. he's like... man im gonna stand in between the two three point arcs. and if they pass me the ball.. im gonna shoot. actually i'll save energy and fade-away everysingle time i shoot too.

if him or tmac ever gets nominated for hall of fame...man

The middle of the pack in the west is still way better than the middle of the pack in the east, though.

VC used to be very athletic, but I don't think he is anymore. He's turned himself into almost a pure shooter.

But he's never been on a true contender before. That could change everything.

Spurs-Lakers had some great series in 03 (Horry's three rims out) and 04 (Fisher's .4 shot).

Definitely agreed. But the Bulls could make things very interesting for the top East teams this year (see last year's playoffs).

Overrated. They lost their top scorer and were playing a severely depleted Celtics team.
