Your team? Chris Paul is obviously a huge anchor. I don't like Richardson at all in the second round; Barbosa is going to eat into his minutes a lot. I cautiously love Marion, though, I think he's going to bounce back this year. I like Anthony Randolph a lot more than Zach; Zach gives you points and rebounds, and that's it, plus he actively hurts you on the percentages and turnovers. Ariza was a good get in the 6th round; it's hard to evaluate these Rockets because nobody knows who's going to take over the scoring. I like Turiaf a lot as a late round pick, I was looking for him and was sad to see he was gone; the irony, though, is that he and A Randolph are competing for the same minutes, and Turiaf actually started last night. Brandan Wright is probably out for the year; I'm not sure how long Miles is, but at least the first month and probably longer.

I think Randolph will start as Nelie is sure that he's over his injury, and Turiaf plays a lot for andris. It was a late round pick. I was thinking that I would just hold onto Wright until he's healthy, but I didn't realize how important it is to have a fully healthy roster until I started changing it around for different days. He's already set to be dropped.

Your players aren't bad, but like half your team is the Celtics. The Celtics will be good this year, but it's not clear that individual players on the team will shine as brightly because they are so talented.

Depends on who it is and how long they're out. I dropped mine and added new ones. If it's a really good player or the injury isn't supposed to be for long, you may want to hang onto them. To do that, go to my "my team" and then the "add" button under that.

Sigh. Anyone else annoyed by the total lack of medical school correspondence happening now? How late do y'all think schools send out interview invites. I'm still waiting to hear from 4 places. I wish I could hear something, ya know?

Me. There's barely been any invites lately. I have 6 schools I haven't heard a peep from. It's annoying.

Not sure I am annoyed, but I guess I didn't really understand the ebb and flow of the cycle (assuming our cycle is playing out the same way it has in past years) even though I have been reading SDN for a couple of years now...I guess I thought it would flow more smoothly instead of the big rush of invites in Aug to mid Sept, slowing quickly to a trickle in October (only 1 invite in October vs 6 in Aug and Sept)...

I am waiting to hear from 7 schools, but I really only care about 2 or 3 of them...and not even sure I would spend the $$$ for interviews at more than one of them anyway, so I guess that is why I am not too annoyed, but I am confused...I check my email daily, but I have really lost interest in this "game" and am already starting to look at housing options in Charlottesville, etc.

I keep telling people to apply EARLY, and by early I mean June, with secondaries turned around ASAP in July, but there are some really stubborn folks who refuse to believe it matters...I am proof it matters, at least for the non-superstar applicants like me.

and ksmi, it is annoying to have heard nothing from schools. i haven't heard anything at all from 8 of mine, including 3 of my state schools! i mean even a rejection would be ok, i just wish they would keep us a little more informed about whats going on. i've kind of moved on from expecting interview invites tough so its fine, i feel really lucky to have the ones i do and dont need any more🙂
 
Speaking of all this basketball talk, my copy of the new Bill Simmons, The Book of Basketball, book came in the mail Tuesday. I'm already 80 pages in (it's like 730pgs). Book is CRAZY good.

Yeah you have to change around the lineups for each day. But you can set up your lineup for each day at the beginning of the week to make sure all of your active guys are playing; in practice, there's only going to be like one day all week where you have to worry about having more guys playing than you have spots. I'm sure you'll figure it out by Sunday 🙂

I got my Cornell invite last Friday, and they scheduled me for 11/3. So it seems like they have maaad interview spots left. Maybe it's still early in terms of apps being reviewed?

i withdrew from the schools i don't care about, so the four i have left i REEEEALLLY want to hear from. if i could only get 2, i'd pick columbia and tufts. and if i could only get one, i'd probably pick columbia... but i don't know. the boston option is important to me.

but seriously, what is WITH my alma mater ignoring me. jeez.

On second thought, that is a good philosophy to have during the application year.
