Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Today is the 5 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. It seems so long ago, yet not that long ago all at the same time.

I watched this really cool documentary on it yesterday with people that taped the whole thing.

Today will be productive. I will eat buffalo wings and/or barbecue because I have been craving them for a week. I will also study.

I've lost the ability to sleep past 10am.

I can still definitely sleep past 10 a.m.! I wish I couldn't!

Yeah, except we had like 8-person rafts instead of tubes.

That sounds like fun! How are you sore from that though lol?

I'm pretty bad with time management, but I also want to know 99% of the material cold 😀 I just feel like I've pretty much underachieved the last 5 yrs of my life and I finally get another shot AND I'm actually learning something I enjoy, so I really should spend a whole ton of effort on it, ya know? Also, I've never really tried hard in school, so I kinda wanna see exactly how well I can do and how much I can get done if I really work hard. Maybe I'll even like that lifestyle, who knows? I mean, if floatie wasn't visiting me this weekend it'd actually feel...weird...not doing jack **** for a weekend, even tho I'd spent the last 5 years doing jack ****

You're in lab for a couple of hours right now. I'm catching up on missed lectures. I would call that a very successful weekend. Btw, I'm drinking the rest of your OJ.

Aw man, I can't keep up with you guys since I've been so busy. But I have a REAL BED now!!! Wooo no more air mattress. My room looks like I really live here now. XD

ha, im still on an air mattress!

Ok, I don't know exactly how to do this, but I will make an SDN 2014 Fantasy Football League on Yahoo if I get enough interest. I'll Facebook message everybody and see how many people respond quickly enough, because time is running out. If this works, the draft will be this upcoming weekend.

I love med school. (even though I'm ~ 100 pages behind on the reading)

I'm kinda worried about how long that feeling's going to last... :xf: here's hoping for a long time.

And dingy - if you are bored on weekends, you should head out to philly (we are pretty close by right?) - gota do that wingman thing! Just remember to not tell float

I'm sort of happy with my fantasy team...14 team league so pretty slim pickings...

QB Kevin Kolb
RB1 Michael Turner
RB2 Jamaal Charles
WR1 Miles Austin
WR2 Dwayne Bowe
WR3 Devin Aromashadu
TE Heath Miller
DEF San Diego
K Jeff Reed

Bench:
Steve Breaston
Darren Sproles
Clinton Portis
Devin Smith
Alex Smith

there are some pretty atrocious teams in my league.

To be honest, I would put in Clinton Portis if he's not injured. Both of his years under Mike Shannahan in Denver he got 1500+ yards so he's probably a decent bet over Charles. Your team looks nice even though I'm not as convinced about Kolb as everyone else seems to be. It's funny, I think Mcnabb is going to have a monster year just because he doesn't have to throw it as much anymore and actually has run support.

I have Turner and Austin.

Since I'm a fantasy n00b, I didn't realize you couldn't start multiple positions in the same week (except RB and WR) and ended up drafting 2 great QBs. 😳 Luckily, I didn't use early draft picks on one of them. I guess the positive side is that they won't be playing against me.

Float trip was yesterday. I'm in so much pain. But I suppose it was fun.

 I suppose the WashU med school orientation float trip is a different experience from the WashU undergrad senior week float trip. Allow me to explain...

They told us we couldn't bring more than 5 beers per person on the floats - so everyone went to Schnucks and bought 5 novelty giant beer cans each. We got on the buses - my friends and I happened to get on the one bus with no student volunteer (the person with the directions to the float trip) and no faculty member (the person who's supposed to tell us not to drink on the bus).

So we're drinking beers on a bus, and half an hour later we realize we're lost. Of course, we keep shotgunning beers, until people start to have to pee. For the next two hours, we stopped at convenience and liquor stores all over rural missouri, bought more liquor, and had people pee on the side of the road (or in a coke bottle in the bus if the mob of college kids demanded...me..to do so... 😳 )

We drank on a bus for two and a half hours and finally got there - we were the last people by far. But we had stocked up on beers so we were set to drink on the raft. "I'm on a boat" was still a big hit, so you could hear that playing on at least 5 of the rafts. Blacked out students were in the water. People were taking off their clothes; i saw so many guys peeing in every direction. It was truly a **** show. I personally had about 18 drinks. We came home around 4pm and, naturally, went out at night (starting with pitchers of margaritas at Mi Ranchito - which you should check out, great cheap mexican place). I think i had about 30 drinks that day.

Forgive me for the long post, but I couldn't help but rehash one of my favorite college memories

I'm right here.

Yup, I'm all green! Thanks, this is pretty cool.

I have to get used to the semi-new location of the quote button.

Wowwwww congrats!

Good morning folks! And metallica, congrats on the green! 🙂

It's pretty freakin hot outside and I have to trek up a hill to pick up some class notes that aren't in our syllabi. I need them to study tonight. Extend my already long weekend, or get some exercise and pick up the notes?

Ummm sounds like everyone else is studying or in class. I'm going to go pick me up some notes then.

I'm like 7 pages behind.. Can anyone update me?

I survived my first semester with a not too shabby B+ and A, thoroughly enjoyed my week off, and am now immersed in my second semester.

😍 it.

Congrats!! 🙂👍👍

lol yea, AANA's study says CNA's are commensurate to Anesthesiologists? No way!!!

Hey dingy, did you remember to do that Doctoring survey on GeriU? I totally forgot until today... I hope they still give me credit for it! 😱

I just packed my lunch for tomorrow. I sure hope frozen (well I pre-cooked it just now) chicken teriyaki can heat up in a microwave and on a bun and still taste good. It seems like it would taste good in theory.

Thanks for reminding me 😳

I'm getting a stickynotes program right now, the deluge of emails is simply overwhelming and there's no friggin way to keep track of all the events and dates!

That's what I need! Yeah, after being bombarded with so many emails every day, it's no wonder that it slipped through the cracks. Besides, they sent out the first and only email about the survey right before the anatomy test, and then, they didn't send any other reminders. I was definitely a little frustrated when I realized that I missed it!
