Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i dont really study at all for biochem, it seems mostly review of the general biochem priciples from undergrad but a lot more knowledge

in order of difficulty (easy to hard)

public health course (population, epi, biostats, etc) - BS
genetics - fully bs
biochemistry - mostly review
anatomy - memorizing/cant really fail this ****
histology - good teaching and qbank
embryo - horribly done/lacks organization + new terms

yea histo isnt bad either. embryo is something i totally do not do at all and we have no lectures/assignments so its hard to even want to study that ****

Go Miami!!

🙂👍👍

Anatomy - thorax and abdomen

I'm not a fan of anatomy at all. 🙁

Good luck!! :luck:

i like anatomy a lot. i heard its as easy as med school gets though 🙁

From what we've been told here, anatomy is as hard as it ever gets. I think it's just because of the pace of things though. I like anatomy, but I just wish we would go at a slightly slower pace. I feel like I'm just constantly cramming and not getting a chance to fully appreciate how truly amazing the subject is.

not here tho...anatomy is the killer at UM.

Yep yep. How's your studying coming along dingy? You going to the lab later today?

bummer-i am realizing that i really like it (despite the smell and our ridiculously monochromic cadaver) you guys must be going in a dif order or r u not tested over muscles of the back and upper limb?

That's what we do. First test in two weeks, so immense studying begins this evening.

i think anatomy is well done here and the TAs are pretty helpful. My group is also pretty good and i think our dissections are starting to look almost like the prossection. they basically carry my weight and we kinda stopped taking it seriously too.

I like not having lectures (online for us) for anatomy. They have good note packs that I go over with the slides and then look at Netters. Netter's is a beast.

The hardest thing about med school is not letting the gunner get to you and figuring out that most things they just blurt out at times are bull****

so are any of you doing powderpuff football? i am and man our class is INTENSE! our head coach played for Notre Dame football and our head conditioning coach graduated from West Point...I've been barely able to walk since thursday's practice😛 it's really fun though, i love how outgoiing our class is-we probably had about 50 girls and 30 boy coaches at the 1st practice! a much needed break between studying all the metabolic pathways🙂

met, what are your feelings on the JJ/JLee situation?

I say start Lee. We definitely cannot go anywhere with JJ, but at least we have a chance with Lee. Greater risk, but much greater reward if he pays off. He can consistently put 250+ yds and 2 TDs per game. JJ has had his chance and may be less mistake prone, but cannot effectively and/or consistently move the offense.

Done. Methinks lady luck was good to me.

...hopefully.
...luckily.
please? :xf: :scared: lol

Anatomy is our toughest for our first semester. HPD/Embryology is conceptually hard, but the tests are on the "big picture" and the course as whole doesn't count for much. Histology is well histology. I've had it before, so I haven't found what we've covered very hard.

We have our first test in 2 weeks. Back, upper extremities, thorax and we just started on the thorax today.

You want my opinion too, I just know it. Going on down the rumor train, rohan davey has/had been working with JJ and he pretty much told Les Miles to start Lee instead. Apparently JJ has the skills but can't make the reads. The majority of JJ's passes are either long ball attempts or passes to the flats. He hardly ever attempts intermediate passes over the middle and he's timid about the ones he does.

As far as JL, I think he should at least have a shot at the QB again. 2008 he was fresh and couldn't make reads(leading to all his interceptions), and the defense was terrible. Though the offense did put up a lot of points. 2009 the OL was terrible and he looked bad the one time he started. This year I think is a better situation for him. The OL is better, JLee can hopefully make the reads that he needs to, and the defense looks much improved this year.

If JL can make the right reads, the offense will be dynamic. If not, then LSU is SOL for a few more years.

Of course, I wanted your opinion too. 🙂 Seems like a fair assessment, and I agree with it all.

Let's hope it works out. :xf:

stayed up, slept for an hour before heading to the test 😀

hell yea, especially the practical, that was infinitely better!

You only slept an hour last night?! 😱

But yeah, the practical was sooo much better than last time. Much more straightforward in my opinion.

It's finally hit me how much crap I have to learn over the next two weeks. At least it took me this long before getting overwhelmed...
I hear ya. Gah!

Anyone else ever have that sinking feeling once they realize they got specific questions wrong while thinking over a test you just took? 😳
