By the way, I can't wait until next weekend. It will be my first FREE weekend since before orientation. It will be amazing. We finish up our module with our Anatomy test on Friday, and then we have nothing to worry about over the weekend.
 
Tomorrow is the last day before tests start. :scared:

Have to work my studying at school around Saints game traffic. 😡

Important day tomorrow - hopefully I can relax and wind down at night.
 
Any tips on how to tell the difference between muscles of facial expression on the cadaver?

Sean Payton must be taking lessons from Les Miles. Lets just let the clock run out at the end of regulation and kick a field goal for OT. 🙄

I end up going by more of an anatomical landmark approach, and knowing which direction the fibers run since our cadaver's face looks like mush. Sorry that's not much help.

That's kinda what I was thinking to do too. I just can't tell the difference between most of the facial muscles other than that.
 
you should still be able to see where they insert though, or else it's not dissected enough, right?

Finished my exam around 11:30 or 12ish. I didn't like the first one I took.

Now I have another day tomorrow. I'm not a fan of how we separate the Gross lecture and practical exams over 2 days. I would like to take them both in one day and be done with it.
 
My class is too smart for their own good. Passing the anatomy exam this morning required a 65%. The average was an 83%.

The important point: I passed!!!!

Why did everyone have tests today??? And why am I not drinking yet?? Haha.
 
Our SPM (science and practice of medicine class) test was a bunch of bs. I passed by one question (which is fine by me), but I'm pretty sure the class average is going to be below a 70. I'm sure our class is going to get an earful about studying for this class even though it's a bs class.

I heard our average for our Gross written is a 82, someone actually aced the test as well. We have our gross practical tomorrow to average it out.

I felt fine about my embryology test. I think I passed, but I think next time I'll focus on the bigger picture more and not get bogged down with details.

82 is way too high. :scared:

I did well on SPM, but I would have preferred not to and do well on the other ones. SPM was complete trash, though.
 
man roy halladay is basically pitching a perfect game even though he gave up a hit (double play by the next batter)

It's really funny because we literally do ZERO physical exam/vitals stuff until next year. 🙁

We spend this whole year on perfecting the hx and other difficult topics/conversations with patients.
 
We all just got assigned our "clinical preceptors" that we're required to shadow and work with a number of times during the year.

Out of our small group of 6: 1 ENT, 1 burn unit surgeon, 1 surgical oncologist, 1 anesthesiologist, 1 GP, and then I got Ob/Gyn.

Nothing against Ob/Gyn, it was just one of the specialities I really have little interest in... and I feel like it's the one where I will most often be asked to leave the room. 🙁
 
hopefully you will be set for your ob/gyn rotation. rest of them (besides GP) you wouldnt have a graded course on, right?
