no, this is a clear instance of mods overstepping their boundaries and blatantly abusing their power. i am sick and tired of this transgression of our rights. just a minute ago i have PMed the forum admins regarding this issue and if it is not resolved at that level then i'm contacting local authorities to pursue this matter. i am willing to contend this all the way up to the national stage.

Um... at other places, boys can do it too. But at LSU, the colorguard and the Golden Girls (dance team) are the feminine parts of the band. The girls in band have to pin their hair up so that they look like boys. So unless a boy can look like a girl, I don't think they'd be allowed. We have all kinds of strict rules. We have a weight limit and everything. According to our band director, it is so that we can have the most attractive auxiliary units in the country.

Are you serious with the weight limit? That's harsh. I mean, what if girls become anorexic? That's not cool.

Very serious. The colorguard is a bit more lenient but the dance line cannot gain more than 5 pounds at any point in the season. The shorter girls sometimes only get 3.

Eh... there are times I agree and times I disagree. I do like that our two lines are all physically fit. There's nothing worse than colorguard being called the fat girl's dance line. But yeah, sometimes the weight thing is a bit ridiculous. I think as long as you don't look like you've gained weight, then all should be fine.
 
who cares about social life when you will be definite lock to getting an acceptance this fall? Maybe with scholarships to multiple places.
