havent been around in a while..just thought i would drop in and say hi =)

im excited for secondary season to start soon..still am working on making my personal statement sound good !!

best of luck to all this app season =)

I have 35 schools, that's like so much money.🙁
once you get your MCAT score you should be able to trim it a bit. I know it's hard in Cali, but even with horrible stats you shouldn't have to apply to over 30 schools. (I normally say 25 but for Cali it's a bit diff) The trick is to knock off the schools that you have no realistic shot at.

one thing thats pretty good about NJ is that you are driving distance to crapload of schools from all tiers. my interviewing costs was less than application cost.

one thing bad about california is that your interviewing cost >>>>>>

im applying to about 30..mcat scores come out june 2nd for me!! so i have my fingers crossed =)and my tally with the app and secondary fees was close to 4 or 5000..

5K :scared:. Thank god for FAP. Though living in cali will make my traveling fees incredibly high...if a UC doent accept me asap, im not looking forward having to fly all over the country🙁.

are you really planning on filling out secondaries for 30 schools? seems like you wouldn't have enough time to make each of them really good. so maybe that would help cut some costs?

i have planned out when i will write the secondaries..so i think i can write them the best to my ability....since the first day we can submit for some schools vary..about 15 open up as soon as amcas is turned in..but others..vary..so I think I will be able to get it done..

don't UCs interview later than most other schools?
A little later i think, mostly becuase they actually screen who gets a secondary and their secondary doesnt get sent out till like july-august. Also is filling out 30 secondaries relaly that hard? I mean 7 of the schools im applying to didnt even have a secondary last year and a lot of the times it seems they greatly overlap such as the question "how can you add diversity/what makes you special" which ive seen on at least 10 or so of the secondaries. Doesnt seem like it would be all that hard. Esepcially for some schools like penn staet or emory who have like 100 word limits.

You people are all crazy. 30 secondaries??? 😱

Not all of us are god like with 40 mcats😉

probably though..depends on wut the mcat score is..

YES!!!! I thought the same thing until I actually had to do them! I think I ended up completing 22 secondaries, which is more than most. Most people say they will do 25 or 30 but end up only doing 15 or so (look at mdapps and see how many schools people actually complete the secs for). Trust me, it will take you awhile to complete 30 secondaries!

i'm probably only applying to ~10, but i'm nervous without the mcat, etc. that, and i'm trying to stay a little closer to home. and it's mstp, so it's a bit different...
oi.:scared:

i have no doubt it will take a while..but considering im applying for jobs right now and looking at the economy i may have plenty of time to work on thsoe apps =)

Maybe i should cut my school list down...i must be crazy with 44 lol. Thanks for the perspective though 🙂

Isn't it a waste of money to put a school on your primary and not fill out the secondary? What's the point of putting it on there in the first place if you obviously don't want to go there enough to fill the secondary out? Pick an MdApps and count the $$$ some people wasted by withdrawing presecondary without even giving themselves a chance.
