And I think Texas used just about all of their pitching for tomorrow.
So even though I decided earlier today against the movie, my decision is reinforced by the opportunity to watch LSU take another National Championship.
They actually have an 8am emp screening tomorrow, but I have work at 8:30. Plus why would I wake up that early for non-IMAX Megan Fox and not getting paid?

I mean, there are some teams and schools I absolutely hate, but it's pretty extreme to the lame point to spend time making something like that. Plus he's a Yanks fan I think. 👎
BTW: That little kid flicking off has been done and photoshopped on about 14 trillion different websites and contexts.
Anyway, off to sleep for work tomorrow reallllly early.

I haven't seen that movie in ages. I just got on an Underworld kick. I watched the new one the other day and am starting to watch the first and second ones again (starting, because I keep falling asleep...).

everyone yaps that books are always better than the movies but they never consider time:enjoyment ratio. a movie takes like 2 hours to watch, a book takes like 30 hours to read. is the book really 15x better? nope.

:laugh: So true. And I'm also a slow reader. I put down about 10-15 pages of small typeset in about 1 hour.


Although, one movie that was pretty close to exactly what the book was like was Michael Crichton's "Sphere."

maybe you can help me solve a problem. there is a garter snake living in my front yard. my dog is obsessed with it and i think she wants to eat it. i think she's too much of a ***** to attack it, though, so she's just annoying it a lot by poking it with her face. will it eventually bite her if it gets mad enough? if she does manage to kill it can i make tasty snake kabobs? (just kidding.)

anyway in other news i tracked down the record of my underage drinking ticket and it was apparently only a violation of a municipal code, and NOT a misdemeanor! so I don't have to put it on AMCAS, i don't think. phew 🙂

anyway i'm off to go peruse the AMCAS tips thread. hope to submit by the end of the day. Yay 🙂

Did you just pull it up on a background check? I need to do one of those to make sure there is nothing funny there.

i didn't do a background check, i think that costs money and a lot of the time it's a scam. i was able to find this website to look up tickets/court history in my county and i didn't find anything when i searched for my name. (I think this stuff is public info, so you should be able to find something similar.) Anyway, I mentioned it to this guy from my O-chem class who was a lawyer and he said he thought it might be that in my particular county, that it was a municipal code and not a misdemeanor . . . so I went to the county clerk office and asked them to look it up for me. and they found it.

So, in my case i don't think a background check is worth the money. If you have one or two things in particular you're thinking of, you might want to look into them specifically to see what they are classified as. if you can't remember all the times you've broken the law then maybe you ought to do a background check to be sure 🙂

Ha ha. I don't think it's for a lack of my ability to remember, I just want to see what shows up and how it shows up. I also had a couple MIP's, but those were over 7 years and I believe they have been expunged from my record. I'll have to check though to make sure.

I will most likely use the same company that AMCAS does for the background checks. That way I'll get to see the report that they will see. 😉
 
i got my 1st secondary today! I dont know why im excited but w/e lol
 
oh and also, i'd just like to say that as of yesterday i am officially apartment-hunting. i had forgotten how INSANE this business is. especially if you're like me and you have a verrrry small radius that you're willing to live in 🙂

EDIT: in manhattan. that's why it's so crazy.

haha, yes. but i also get paid more here than i would doing this job anywhere else. for your reference, i'm looking to share 3 bedrooms with a couple of people and we're looking at between $950-$1300 each per month. it's totally possible to find cheaper places, but by cheaper i mean cheaper by only a couple hundred bucks. but i know which 'hood i want to be in and that's that. i'm done with the slums of brooklyn :laugh:

They are still there. Just hidden. I'm trying to decide what to do with my mdapps currently. It's super anonymous except for the school list and all the comments are hidden. I could relink it. Or make it less anonymous and still relink it. I still don't want the comments up. Some are just inappropriate. Although I could just hide those and leave the nice ones up. indeed. new york is a crazy place. but my salary is also slightly crazy as well, so i guess that's good 😀

(although i should add that right now i'm on a fellowship and making basically only enough to buy groceries. in august i'll be paid like a real person, yay)
