I'm trying to cook more, but I haven't really had the tools to cook yet. Now I should be able to have a grill, and now I can make some ridiculously good crabcakes. I might shop at Whole Foods more because they have some really good chicken and stuff like that you can just buy then cook.
Speaking of crab, I had the most amazing stuffed crab tonight! Twas awesome.

I would be so, so lost if not for my SO teaching me how to cook... the summer I spent alone was ridiculously unhealthy and expensive, all I had were instant and microwaveable meals, really hard on the wallet and the body. 👎

Cutting out restaurant expenditures will take you farther than cutting out EtOH, unless you're buying a crapload of alcohol and/or really expensive stuff.

So my pet snake just sneezed, I've never seen him do that before. I didn't even know snakes did that.
Anyways, I'm off to sleep for work early tomorrow - again. Only 2.3 more weeks of work before school starts!!!

I'm so glad work is over... school doesn't start until Sept. 9th for me though, I'm actually kind of anxious to get back at it.

This is some of it. Once you pass 21 you get stuck paying for more of your own (and other's) booze.

But I am not very versed in mooching. Maybe I should work on that:idea:

I am doing that, but I'm more willing to cut restaurants😀.
 
I've figured out what option 3 is: Marry rich. someone to cook and pay for my med school!!!!! Why didn't I think of this before??😕

I cook all of my own meals.. only eat organic, used to be vegetarian.. ps i am crazy!

me too!!!!!!!!! except i am still vegetarian. i don't eat refined sugar or flour (unless i'm out and about and can't possibly avoid it) and i try to get 100% locally grown produce... which is not always possible, but i try. yay for insanity! have you seen food, inc.?
 
Safeway is alive and well in DC. I wouldn't buy produce from there though :barf:

Got a letter from a med school yesterday saying I did not fulfill their 1 year of calculus requirement...I placed into Calc III and took it and DiffEq freshman year. :boom: :wtf:?!??!?

Another battle. There's always another battle...🙄

Yeah, but there is this place called Wegmans that is from Rochester, NY. They have a couple of locations in DC now. One of THE reasons I like the DC area now. If you have never been, you can't understand. Once you go you'll be like "this is the greatest grocery store ever."

It has also been #1 on the "best places to work" list that gets put out every year. Now I think it's in the top 5.

And they have locally grown food, etc...

Wegman's is huge in Eastern PA, it's pretty awesome and every highschooler wants to work there

Wegman's is a 30-45 minute drive from DC proper. Do I still make the trek about 1-2x/month? Yes. Yes I do 😀

Well, if two hours of your life is going to be a life changing time, then you probably don't have to think too hard about the decision to make.

But unless his interview is in the next week, I'm sure he could spare the 2 hours if he wanted to. 😉

damn, im so torn right now, could go abroad next spring - deadline is sunday to apply, but that would leave me w/ 1 yr of research/about 1 year of clinical by time of app.

Go for it, a year of research and a year of clinical is enough, and you won't get many chances to go abroad after undergrad is done.

Got my George Washington secondary today... that was quick!! i Just sent in my AMCAS primary yesterday... it hasnt even been verified
