If I could teleport I wouldn't be going to medical school. I would be robbing a bank and living life at destinations all over the world. Plus, even if they arrested you, how could they stop you unless they induced a coma.

Yeah, this is probably the best solution, but most likely unrealistic if he has a full schedule.

I think he should fly out after or just skip lab and enjoy a day without class... :shrug:

So, I just decided that I'm going to register and start training for a 1/2 marathon. I'm pretty excited about it!

I might even try to get a sponsor, not sure about that though.

Another addition to this:
Our GPAs are, for the most part, done. Only a drastic screw-up could bring them down enough to really play with us. The only thing to worry about is if you're waitlisted/waiting to hear from one of your top choices and they need updates, or you just don't get in at all and have to reapply.

Yeah, I think it will be fun. I've never run 13.1 miles before in a stretch. Maybe 10, but that was in San Diego where there is a surplus of oxygen. I'm excited to actually have a point to running or something to work for.

Should be fun. I've got ~7 weeks to train. Knowing my luck an interview will pop up and only be available the day of the marathon...

I think Creighton requests regular updates. Not positive, but pretty sure.
 
Off to bed. My sleep schedule is so messed up - sleep at 2am, wake up at 11:30am.
Now I must go back to the 9-5 work grind for 3 days.

Agreed, but SO's (especially the married type) must be invited. Just the way it is. I know plenty of good places near most schools from my professional musician audition circuit days, especially near the major military bases...

yeah--every dorm's premed committee has a listserv, but I'm the one he asks questions of 🙄. One friend does that and then constantly sends me page-long emails lamenting the application process. I gChat to commiserate with folks about the process, but page long emails every other day are a bit much.

yeah--my school is kinda weird-- 98% live on-campus, and even those who don't are still associated w/ a dorm. You get your diploma through the dorm, you live there all 3 years, each dorm has a dining hall. it just makes more sense to do pre-med, pre-law, etc. through the dorm system...

Anyone else still waiting on UMich or have they pre-secondarily rejected me?
 
congrats red! i'm gonna be there a month before you so i'll let you know what's good w/ the school.

as for umich, i didn't apply but i think they send secondaries to everyone. you may wanna just email them.
 
Holy ish....so I went on the UMich website to tool around and came across the secondary application portal. Tried to login and OMG it worked....

Called the Admissions Office...supposedly they sent me an email about the secondary on JULY 3RD!!! :scared:😱:scared:

Worst fears...realized.

caniac, youll be fine. i just talked to a premed friend of mine...shes on week 2 of a 3 week road trip. LORs - not submitted. doesnt know if shes verified. so no worries, were so ahead of the game its sickening. im not sure if i should be revealing to people i have interviews already when i go back...they might voodoo sh|t my a*s...and JINX ME!

yup, friends and family members like that.

The best one is that in my near 100% buisness types family, some of them just don't understand that I'm not a doctor. So no matter how much I explain I'm still a student I continue to get questions like "why the **** is a doctor living in an apartment?"🙄.
 
the lady that cuts my hair doesn't get that i'm not a doctor or what a pre-med is. shes kinda cute so i just tell her i'm a plastic surgeon and play along
