Wow, I am so sorry to hear about this. I believe that in a way, it can be advantageous to begin medical school single. Because it's early in the application/interview season, when the time comes to decide between acceptances, you can choose where to go without having to consider your SO's preferences.

🙁 Sorry ML, I know it's hard. But I remember you saying once a long time ago that he didn't really get your med school dream and that he wouldn't understand if you picked a school farther away over one in Chicago. You need to be able to go where you feel is best and if you are with someone, they need to be supportive of that.

bummer and a half. but you were saying to me a couple of weeks ago that applying to med school would be so much simpler if you were unattached... and in a lot of ways, you were right! now you can make the decision about which location and school is best for you based solely on what you want and need. you're going to do great at MCW and all the other interviews that will come your way.
 
thanks everyone. i feel like crap but i guess i knew that this would probably happen, and i'd rather feel like crap now than right before a big important test sometime next year. ::sigh::

my mstp interviews start, and some of them span 2-4 days so i wanna to have more color schemes (my ties are all kinda blueish)
 
I'd love to get a dog, but that's the one downside of living alone. I'd feel bad leaving it home during 3rd year with the long hours and overnight call.

Also, apparently UF band (who I was in front of the entire halftime show) chanted "Tigerband sucks" as we marched on the field. That's just wrong. I'd maybe expect it from their fans. But their band needs to be a bit more classy than that.

1) Luckily, you will almost certainly have an acceptance in your pocket by Friday morning, so that will take the edge off this interview, and any future ones. And I know you're tired of hearing how awesome you are, but it's true.

2) Why was the UF band at an away game? I thought you guys don't do away games, for example.

i'd probably leave that dog at home with my brother during med school (he's 10 years younger)
 
girls do suck, i remember telling this to someone in my dreams last night



anyway looking at last years acceptance thread, ill probably only hear from 2 schools around the 15 and then they will trickle slowly (if good news)

aw sorry about that🙁 i think everyone else is right though-it's going to make it way easier on you to be single while choosing where to go and starting school. I'm sure it's really tough right now, but I definitely think it'll work out for the best, especially since you said he doesn't really understand you med school dream and support you 100%.

Also, honestly, LSU dropping six spots seems kinda harsh for a team that just held the top team in the country to 13 points. I still don't believe in any of those non-top-3 undefeated teams.

So, I think I may already know the answer to this, but I want your advice:

Since I haven't heard from any schools yet, I'm getting nervous and thinking about adding 3 or so more schools to my application today or tomorrow. Do you think this is wise or a waste of money?
 
i say do it, you will hear from schools soon, but whatever puts your mind to ease for the next few months.

LSU's play calling was among the worst I'd ever seen. Pathetic - that is why we lost the game. Plays didn't even give us a chance to score. O-Line held up really well except for the 3 sacks.

Florida is the better team, but they are not invincible or even really that great. I think Alabama is better. And the talking heads that keep saying Florida's defense won the game for them are wrong - it was LSU's offense that lost it.

Now my voice is completely gone and abs are sore from screaming so damn much. 🙁

Ya i agree that dropping that much is a bit harsh, I thought they'd be #6 or 7. My hokies are #4 though which makes me 😀

I think you'll start hearing back really soon and unless they're schools that you really would want to go to it's probably a waste of money applying this late. Totally up to you though and if you have the money to spend and it would make you feel better, why not.
