no idea. there are always things to do around the campus though, and it's not far from the rest of downtown. what sorts of things are you looking for?
 
haha, i wanna walk around, is minneapolis st paul a place that you can be entertained while walking around? i might hit up a bar why not. maybe go to the mall of america to see what the hype is about

minneapolis, yes. st. paul, no. MoA really isn't that exciting unless you're really in to shopping. I avoid it like the plague, but intense shoppers fly in to just go there. Though there are a few good restaurants there, and the former camp snoopy (mini theme park)...you can find better food elsewhere. But the rainforest cafe is entertaining if you've never been to one (friends with the owner, so i had to say it)
 
ive been to rainforest cafe, its usually a backup option to olive garden, if im at atlantic city
 
i feel like it would get dark and cold in minneapolis really quickly. Im arriving at 545, which means at the hotel by 630 PM (im excited to take public transit). i guess ill just walk around the area...

i tried that at duke and that took me no where though
 
find a high school hockey game. that will def be entertaining. 👍

yo im really thinking of getting in on this deal

I would be returning from my Charleston MSTP interview Saturday afternoon, I can reroute that to DC. Stay there overnight. From DC, I can fly to New York for $31. From New York I can fly to Vegas for $31. I can then Take the 5 PM flight back to NYC for another $31 and then I have to go to my next interview on Sunday night so I have to go to philly and fly to ohio

yea i had to help this dude put up his ELISAs he thought he found something crazy, that my PI thought he could write a new grant. turned out there was nothing at all.


anyway if anyone is near JFK

you can go to Vegas at 230 PM and arrive at vegas at 530 PM, leave Vegas at 1030 PM and arrive in NYC back at 5 AM. I would totally do it but i cant get a flight from Charleston to JFK
 
That deal would be awesome if I didn't have a football game that night, actually had an interview on Monday, etc.

Or if you could actually go somewhere interesting besides NYC from New Orleans with JetBlue. Very limited options.

Yeah, I tried that but it doesn't work for Burlington. I don't think it's a big enough airport for them to do price tracking. It works for Richmond, though.

but based on "fit" and how my respective interview days went, i would say mt. sinai is a much more realistic possibility.

UCF was pretty decent... we got to use lap surgery simulation machines and stuff after our hospital tour and saw a lap chole which was pretty cool. took like 20 minutes. UVM needs to take me off their WL though 🙂

honestly, i would totally give you my UM interview. i just wanted go to miami. i've never been. the school does look great though. it just gave me something to do int he lab today (looking at tickets and hotels).

i think im calling up my peoples and making a trip out of this. we've been looking forward to this since will smith put us on it.
