I'm not a huge mint fan, except for mint choc chip ice cream (only I'm weird and I like flaky chips instead of big chunks)

edit: the green kind, not the crappy white wannabe.

Well, I think chocolate cake is hit or miss. It really depends on how it's made. Sometimes, it's heavenly. But other times, it can be icky.

favorite commercially available ice cream:

haagen dazs mango (none of that sorbet ****)
and then phish food by bandJs
 
my favorite ben and jerry's ice cream is karamel sutra. It's half caramel ice cream, half chocolate chocolate chip, with a core of pure gooey caramel.

Mmmm.

Close second is double fudge brownie.

agreed! i have a lindt dark choc truffle bar in my bag that i've been savoring and eating like 1 or 2 squares a day of for the past week, sooo amazing.

half baked is my fave, the double fudge brownie is good too though. for some reason i like their low-fat yogurt based ones better than the regular ice cream ones though.

I don't like mint flavored things much at all. I can tolerate mint flavored gum. And peppermints if I'm in a bind. But I DO love those big, soft fluffy peppermint candies. The ones that melt in your mouth! mmmm

No no!! Luun, this is all wrong lol!! While it's not my favorite, mint chocolate anything is usually delicious!! And I just could never get into the pralines and cream flavor!

👍 to everything except I do liked mashed potatoes (not baked really though.)

I think the reason I'm not big on cake is the frosting. Frosting just tastes fake/gross to me. Pass. Cheesecake is doable though.

My favorite dessert though is probably cannoli or gelato (god, I sound so guido right now haha). We have this awesome local gelateria here that is really good and tastes just like it's from italy because the owner trained in italy for years. So good. I don't know if they are common around the nation though? We just have lots of Italians around here so that may be why.

The only kind of real cake I like is chocolate. That's also the only kind of icing I like. I hate regular white icing - it's too sweet.

I also don't consider ice cream cakes, cookie cakes, and cheesecakes as types of cake (I happen to like all of these).

And why wouldn't they be cakes? I can see why the ice cream and cookie cakes aren't cakes (they are just large blobs of ice cream and large cookies, respectively), but why not cheesecake?
 
This thread today has made me realize how picky I am. I hate cookie cake too. :laugh: Again, I think it's the frosting that ruins it for me.

I hadn't ever really thought about that, but I guess you're right. Cheesecake does appear to be more pie-like.

From wiki:

A Garbage Plate is a combination of one selection of cheeseburger, hamburger, red hots, white hots, Italian sausage, chicken tender, fish (haddock), fried ham, grilled cheese, or eggs; and two sides of either home fries, French fries, baked beans, or macaroni salad). On top of that are the options of mustard and onions, ketchup, and Nick's proprietary hot sauce, a greasy sauce with spices and ground beef. It's served with rolls or Italian toast on the side, which is made fresh at the bakery next door.

This is all true but basically 90% of people ordering a plate just get:

- Cheeseburger plate with mac salad and homefries. It's then topped with a meat sauce, onions, and a little mustard.

Sounds gross but everyone usually loves it after trying.
 
reconciled with my b!tchy roommate from freshman year today because spending the rest of the semester in a 7 person class and pretending she does not exist wasn't going to work.
I called my mom to tell her, she announced that such a selfless deed is going to earn my some good karma. I hope she meant med school app karma cause I needs it!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I think I saw that on thisiswhyyourefat.com. Meat, cheese, potatoes....sounds like a yummy combo to me, though it just look yucky. Haha

Can I ask you guys what's the deal with people mixing chocolate and bacon?? It like there's been a chocolate/bacon explosion within the past year! I see the combo all the time! Bacon brownie, chocolate covered bacon....what's with it?!
 
i've never seen chocolate bacon... but i have seen a maple bacon doughnut
