humph, my fafsa is refusing to save required info on one of the pages. pushing "save" doesn't work either. grrrr....now i guess i have to call them tomorrow. just what i wanted to do.

Same thing happened on mine, it was like the amount of savings or something of your parents, I just left those 3 blocks blank and submitted it. I figure if they need it(and it was marked as needed) they'll ask for it, like last year when they needed my draft eligibility stuff.

Sometimes I have visions of putting in a bid for tix but I know it's utterly unrealistic that I would be able to go...

I'm so excited too! my dvr will be full of games. At least the US has a good chance of advancing past the 1st round given our group teams. After that, sigh, we can only hope for some miracle.

You know that show 100 on mtv about a bunch of guys who are doing 100 things before they die? Going to a WC game sometime in my life is a goal (haha pun not intended) for me!

My fiancée got accepted to Michigan's pharmacology graduate program today! Hoping to be in Ann Arbor in a few short months. :xf: Go, go gadget financial aid! :laugh:

gosh i just wish i could go this year. SA is country i totally want to visit anyway.

i will be amazing to be surrounded by people who think soccer is the best sport EVER. it is huge in every other country on the face of this planet besides the US. i will suffice by going to my local irish pub, watch somes games, and meet some nice irish boys who also like...football (got to blend in, ya know).

congrats!!! michigan is awesome. even w/o a huge financial aid, your fiance's UM stipends are decent so you guys should have a less-stressful lifestyle during the next few years
 
going to south africa would be amazing in itself

but going to south africa to watch the world cup is not worth it.

if it was somewhere in europe it would be do-able and i dont think you would feel the need to really explore the city/country and maybe also true for brazil, but roundtrip tix to south africa is like 2000$+ and some of the necessary commodities will cost you a lot over there, plus you would be only able to see one or two games.

just not worth it
