I am doing nothing this summer. Maybe working 2 or 3 days a week so that I can keep my free movies and get a little spending cash.
btw-i am so lost when you all talk about lab research! my research was with 2 and 5 year olds looking at their emotional development. playing with kids is way more up my alley than test tubes and bacteria😛
damn did not know this before withdrawing. thats cool though.
work at a movie theatre in NYC? i can recommend you some good ones
same here🙂 i'm gonna stop working towards the end of june then just travel and chill til school starts.
i'm up for a bracket, but i must warn you guys that i pick crazy teams. i tend to pick whoever i want to root for and that ends up being mostly underdogs, so i do horribly haha. i hate being torn between who i want to win and who i bet on though. and if my team makes it in, i'm picking them to go all the way even though there's little to no chance of that happening😛
met, how many people do you think will do the pre-mat at LSU-NO. When I saw there was a study skills section, I knew there was no way in hell I'd do it if I went there. Haha.
one of my friends is a huge 24 fan and picked george mason to go all the way that one year because there's apparently a "george mason" character on that showi'm up for a bracket, but i must warn you guys that i pick crazy teams. i tend to pick whoever i want to root for and that ends up being mostly underdogs, so i do horribly haha. i hate being torn between who i want to win and who i bet on though. and if my team makes it in, i'm picking them to go all the way even though there's little to no chance of that happening😛
No, I mean back here in the NOLA. I thought you were talking about doing research in NYC in between M1 and M2.
Luckily for me, LSU is not in the tourney this year. We had a good team last year, and I still had us losing to UNC. They had a bad draw, and should have been higher than an 8 seed.

ENT is pretty amazing. Before I started shadowing, I didn't realize how competitive it is to match. The surgeries are AWESOME. The reconstructive surgery I watched-was another ENT colleague of my doc.that's something i would like to do also. ENT is awesome. my friend just matched there. i made up a dance for her as a congratulatory gift. it goes ear... neck... throat.. repeat
its a cornell spring/end of the year concert. this year they are having Drake. in 2004 they had kanye and OAR 😱
yea I was. but you should work at NYC this summer too. i'm gonna try to be there and i just wanted some free movies.
Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm considering doing research this summer. Thoughts? Some people have said that I'm only happy when I'm busy (which is probably true), and others have said that I should enjoy my break.

I want this shirt. Oh, Gary Busey...

It's possible to both work and enjoy the break (as long as you're not pulling crazy long hours). If you find a cool research project I say go for it.
That's what I did. May through July I axed my hours down to 30-40/wk no weekends. Then I took all of of August off to move/chill. Of course I probably had more maleable hours than most, so I was lucky with time flexiblity.i seriously need a plan to run away for the last month of summer..
I can't remember the capitals of Qatar, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan!
doha, tashkent, ashghabat
why did you need this info?

Those are the only three I don't know from Asia. I have Doha now. I just find it hard to remember Tashkent and Ashghabat. I can remember Bandar Seri Begawan, but not those.
Now on to Africa, that's hard.
do you need to know them for some reason or just personal interest?
sporcle
Question:
The subject of my sentence is "A leader" and to make sure I have subject-pronoun agreement, I have to use "his or her," but that sounds annoying because I need to do it twice in the same sentence. Should I default to "his" or use "her" because I'm referring to me? I'm confoosed.

Being a traditionalist in English at least, I'd say "his." I once got in a big fight with a campus administrator about this. I said "his" was fine and he threw a hissy fit about leaving out women. I was like "I'm a girl!!!"
Personal interest. Are you a geography buff?

Those admin types are all about being overly PC.
son aren't you a sophomore+1 (this is also a post pad, I wanna get to at least 1,000 before I get into med-school).
Thanks for the input everyone. I'm just going to use his or her, even if it sounds weird, because just using "his" or "her" alone is even weirder in the context of the essay.
oakland, your avatar makes me dizzy. What is it?

I'm a second year student yes, but after this semester I will have enough credits to be considered a senior.
Doesn't count. I was a senior after 3 semesters. You're still a sophomore. 😛
Thats fine then, I'm a sophomore. But I'm still deciding whether or not to apply this summer. I also need to decide whether to work as an EMT or not. Do you guys think a 24 hour shift on a weekend will hurt my grades. The real thing I'm worried about is not being able to wake up the next day and study so I essentially lose two days of studying. I'm also worried about my sleep cycle. It's already screwed up as it is, I have class in 6.5 hours and I'm not even tired.
you can, but it'll be like throwing money in the wind.Thats fine then, I'm a sophomore. But I'm still deciding whether or not to apply this summer. Nice try oakland.
Nip/tuck has been AWFUL this season. I stopped watching halfway through because Sean and Christian are so washed up. And I wanted Kimber the Needy Bitch back.
ahh my head cant stand on my neck anymore!!!
you can, but it'll be like throwing money in the wind.
Are you planning on applying so that you'd start med school before you got an undergrad degree?
you can, but it'll be like throwing money in the wind.
makin it rainYou can be there to catch it.
i think there's ample evidence med schools frown on immaturity regardless of the length of time taken to complete a bachelor's. as an honest assessment of yourself, do you find yourself to be mature?I need another 34 credits to graduate with my degree; not to mention I will be taking summer classes.
I will be able to have a degree before med-school would start.
bleargh do you really think my chances would be that bad? Do med-schools not like students who finish undergrad in 3 years? I mean I'm leaning towards just elongating my degree plan into 4 years and not cramming a ton of hard science classes into the next 2 semesters, but I mean saving a year is very tempting.
yo yo yo! I did the 3 year route but applied after I graduated. Now I'm makin' money and livin' the Kaplan dream (total jk) 🙄I need another 34 credits to graduate with my degree; not to mention I will be taking summer classes.
