Wow I am an epic fail on the treadmill today. I'm warming up on a bike now hoping that will wake my legs up.

And apparently I still haven't lost any weight......

Sammy you are awesome for actually reading through the whole thing. It's crappy, but I'm figuring out that I'm ready to be on my own and move on from the relationship....so I'm talking to her tomorrow to give the bad news 🙁

Ultimately, I don't know how I am going to handle the cultural situation with my parents down the line... all I know is that right now is not the time and my ex-gf is not the one.

I'm not sure if I am being masochistic but I'm still a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit holding onto the threads of hope. But I've pretty much accepted it as a gentle rejection from my hardcore crush.
As my husband just said to me: that's the equivalent of "let's just be friends"

I so, so want to see you walking with a hockey stick into the University Hospital.

Edit: That's the way I generally like to think about it. Assume the worst, but in the event of good news, party like it's 1999. Or 19999. There should be some spots opening up as people start going to second looks and getting their finaid packages, so I wouldn't give up entirely.

Also, how long has the enterprise been in your avatar?

I don't think I could ever get a tattoo unless it was something small and super meaningful. I think Angelina Jolie's tattoo of the coordinates of where each of her children were born is cool.

holy moly! that's gotta hurt.

i would get a tat if it was meaningful as well. i just haven't figured out something meaningful enough to justify permanent ink. i love watching la ink, they are really amazing artists. some of the portrait tats are spectacular.

I feel the same way. It has to be meaningful, small, and in a very discrete or not that obvious location. Maybe the med staff would be cool, but that is probably very cliche for male med students. :laugh:
 
wouldn't you want one thats completely meaningless so it can be extremely meaningful in any and all different ways?
 
I think it would get pretty tiring explaining what some vague symbol was over and over again.

But if it was vague enough, you could have fun and make up a new story every time

:laugh: good call, probably seriously overused. you could find a latin phrase, but maybe thats also cliche. discrete is a good thing. you want it easily covered by your scrubs and/or normal work clothes.

I know a guy that got accepted who has a huge ass latin phrase tatooed on his forearm. That is quite visible, he might need to wear long sleeve shirts underneath his scrubs.

bummer for him. an er dr i shadowed was a wannabe rocker in his previous life (his words, not mine) and had tats up and down both forearms. he had to wear long sleeves always, even in the middle of summer. ick!

It's probably a lot harder to hide that in the ER where you where scrubs all the time. Maybe if you mostly wear dress shirts/ties it's easier. So if you're a surgeon, it's either that or scrubs where it doesn't even matter if it's the OR.
