man sorry zona...I cant imagine at least one of those 5 schools wouldnt let you in come may. Especially since schools like nymc are notorious safety schools that have huge movement.
 
so say May 15 rolls around, and we get off a waitlist thereafter. How long do we have to decide if we will take it? (cause of that whole 1 spot past may 15th thing)

I hear they usually give you a week to decide. I've heard of instances where it's only a day. And it's the school that takes you off the waitlist that decides that time frame I think.
 
yes, MET, I so agree. even people who've taken it before refer to it as mcatS. WHY?!??!!!

turns out my boss/mentor has been offered a position at MGH, and she can take her research with her. pretty cool how my lab may just follow me to boston. crazy.

Yea...I think if it is close enough to classes starting....Emory gives you 24 hours from what I remember. Or they may have been trying to scare us into filling out the dreaded CSS profile and FAFSA on time. lol

i had a nightmare last night about how i was enrolled in a class (that, incidentally, i had already taken before and gotten an A in...and for whatever reason, i was now retaking), and it was getting towards the end of the semester/exam time but i realized when i saw the exam schedule (with a practical exam included on the schedule) that i had never been to the lab component of the class. i then went to the professor to try to explain that i had taken his class before and the lab as well, and for some reason this semester i didn't realize there was lab and i just never went. and the professor was like, suck it up, you're going to fail the practical! mwahaha.

i think i was on SDN too much yesterday for my own subconscious's good.

That's no good! It reminds me of a recurring nightmare I used to have where I enrolled in a class and forgot that I signed up for it, so I never actually went or took tests or anything and failed the class. :scared:
 
i was very disturbed when i woke up. surprisingly so. :laugh:
 
it's like when ron weasley jokes that hermione's boggart would be a piece of homework with a grade of 90%

btws....I need to figure out a way not to be terrified of our ancient autoclaver that does not tell you when it is safe to open.
I stood by it for 10 min before getting up the courage to try and open it...and even then every hair on my arm was up screaming for me to stop!!!
 
When I was in middle school, I missed the school bus ones. After that, I kept having a dream of missing the bus by like 20 seconds and running after it for miles.
Thats the only school related nightmare I've had. Can you imagine how neurotic I'd be otherwise, wow!
I do have waking dreams sometimes that make you think you are late for something. Those are annoying.

A waking dream is a dream that feels real, like you are awake. You usually "wake up late for something or other" and freak the eff out.

You know what I hate. Those "high priority" tags people put on their emails. And it's always the same person too. I hypothesize this condition affects the same region of the brain responsible for typing emails like this.

Ha, I've actually done something like that. I looked at my transcript and was like WTF, why isn't this course credited, and the advisor told me it's because I've taken it already. Apparently they changed the name and the content of the course but kept the same prefix and number....

As for nightmares about finding out that I've missed portions or even the entirety of a class at the end of the semester...I've had plenty. It was the most often repeated nightmare during my undergrad years :laugh:
 
anyone know the consensus on LO(prettymuchintent) sent months ago?

here's the deal, LOI (intent...sigh) sent months ago because i love love the program. now, i really need to just commit to a program because I want to start mid-May instead of june because i need to take a week off for family stuff in the middle of the summer. So... i want to move in mid-may... making the April 30 (for mstp) waitlist movement date WAY to close to moving day, and thus in my mind impossible to cancel a lease and get a new lease in a different state and move in in the 10-14 days before i would like to be there. Oh, and to add to that, the financial aid for my significant other is drastically different between the two locations (the LOI where i'm waitlisted school would require 7k in private loans on top of fed loans, just for a BA). Would i look like a complete idiot for withdrawing now? I hate this position. Thoughts, please?
