Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I am an atheist Jew, so educate me. Why is the day of crucifixion called "GOOD" Friday? Seems there was nothing good about it.

Oh yeah FSAP, was going to ask you about Iowa. What attracted you to Iowa and what is good/bad about the research they do? My fiancee is having trouble with the idea of going to Iowa over such schools as Michigan and WashU, quite understandably. We really, really don't want to live apart for the next 4-6 years, however, so if you have anything to say about Iowa, that would be helpful. Thanks! 😀

None of this thread moving talk makes any sense to me, since I just use my subscription page to find all the threads I read. Did this thread get moved to somewhere hard to find or something? 😕

Well, the thread was moved to the All-Students section, which isn't that hard to find. It's just different.

Here's the thing though: it's my opinion that the Class of 2014 thread does need to be in the Pre-Allo forum, at the very least, for the duration of this year. The Class of 2014 thread, in my mind, represents a discussion among fellow pre-allopathic medicine students concerning their daily lives as such students. In that way, because it's a thread pertaining to specifically pre-allopathic medicine students, it does belong in the Pre-Allo forum. Now, if the off-topic argument were to be legitimate, then threads, some begun by moderators no less, would also need to be moved. These include, but are not limited to, the Sweet Sixteen threads.

am i the only one who didn't even notice this whole thread moving?!! i thought you all would have subscribed by now 😱

That's why I had no doubt it was an April fools thing, since there are still a lot of OT threads in P-A. Guess not?

also, met - i withdrew from baylor today. you better get my spot or else imma be mad

:soexcited:

I should call the Admissions Office: "so my friend jla just withdrew her acceptance and I was wondering..."

:bang: of course as soon as i say my decision is final, duke has to go and complicate things with a scholarship

i really don't know what to do now

Wowzers.

Wait... So, the 2014 thread really was moved forever? Not just as an April Fool's joke?

🙁

why don't y'all just subscribe to the thread so it just appears every time? no need to look.....

or maybe you're doing the smart thing by easing off before skoool starts.

I just subscribe.

This thread needs to be in Pre-Allo until med school starts. For the many off-topic things we talk about here, there are a lot of things that could be useful for future applicants.

guys, why don't we just include something related to medical school in all of our posts? then they have to move it back to pre-allo because we'll be on topic.

for example:

i love spring! :biglove:

oh, also, i have a question about med school. when is the withdrawal deadline?

true. also, it reduces sdn traffic.

but look on the bright side, we'll have the longest class thread of any class!

Sounds good.

I might try and start up a petition thread on PA to try and get our thread moved back at least until September or August. Don't you think that sounds good?

People could follow waitlist movement, school decisions and the beginning of med school for us on PA before we are delegated here - and then there is a definitive end time for us in PA. Thoughts?

Thanks a lot friends.

Man! Ok, I got the email from my interviewer. All my :luck::xf::luck::xf: For One now!

I am gonna be honest. University of Chicago was my top choice from day one, but it did not work out. I will have to come back for residency. Carver is a quality program and if you look at their match list, it's overall solid and comparable to UChicago. Research depends on what you are into. For example, they have two big name PI's I am interested in working with and that's what put the school over the top compared to similar places like Case and Wisconsin.

I AM GOING TO BU MEDICAL SCHOOL!!! 😱🙂😱

Woot!!

 Valient effort, but I'm not sure it will work. 🙁

i'm mainly pissed because i was looking forward to the 2015 thread being useful to track how others are doing with PS, secondary progress etc. the idea that these threads have no end date is bullsht, observe the essential death of the 2013 thread. bah.

but on a different note, clearly jla is going to cure some kind of cancer or something

and woot mandy woot

Thanks for your honesty, I also really liked UChicago but am considering all possible options at this point. I'm sure you'll enjoy Iowa City, it's a great town with a lot going on. 👍

Nice!! Is there a reason for such a random amount of money?

Haha. Well I got a $50 check from my aunt and $2.35 from my family's broker. It's a card with a $2 dollar bill that says "money for birthday ice cream" and then a quarter and a dime taped on as well labeled "for inflation."

 Nice!!! Now the question is... What type of ice cream are you gonna buy with that $2.35?

I have no idea!!!

I am blind when I wear glasses. And I'd feel like a loser. People have told me that I should wear fake glasses all the time. That's just weird.

I always feel weird spending two dollar bills anyway. What's the point of them??
