ok. so then the schools can use parental income to decide if that aid is scholarship or loans?
 
Well, I think the gov't can give some grants also, and schools decide if they want to give need-based stuff based on parental info also.

i have a preliminary list.. it hinges on how i do in the smp, which will probably cut out all the safeties and i'll be left with ~10 reaches. you're definitely reading my PS as soon as i finish it.. i had a great eureka moment yesterday and have the framework down. i just have to write it now

woot! that is a good feeling. and my advice is to err on the side of fewer applications... although i know people will probably disagree (Blue?)

id def disagree. i think hes like me with high mcat but low gpa, and i didnt get in last yr.

But you were a superstar to begin with, so you were okay. I was not, so I had to shotgun my applications to various places.

well, i didn't mean fewer like 7 applications. i meant like 20 or 25 instead of 40. idk, i know it's easy for me to say, but i feel like if you apply early and smartly, you can narrow it down to that many? maybe i'm wrong. Blue probs knows best here.

oh, and thanks. but FWIW, i'd hardly describe my app as "superstar." and i think my results this cycle are pretty much what i expected-- solid, but not super amazing. i'm satisfied 👍
