So this morning my roommate gets in the shower at about 10:15 and starts blasting music through the bathroom, waking me up. It was so loud! He was still in the shower when I left at 11:00.

I hope he won't do this every day (now that he quit his job) until he leaves around May 10th. If he does it again, I will turn on my TV and audio system w/ subwoofer to death metal music and blare it.

Speaking of which, someone actually called up the Governor's Office today to complain about how expensive their electricity bill was. We often get really random calls like that.

My favorite feature is we get a 3rd year elective, which is cool if your looking at a specialty outside of the core curriculum (or you can take a cushy elective in the middle of third year). Other than that we've got all the standard bells and whistles everyone else has (free clinic, early patient exposure, summer research ect...).

LSU has 3 electives during the 4th year. Is that low? It just seems like not very many if you want to specialize outside the core curriculum. It also seems other schools have electives almost the entire 4th year.

Only $5? Well, that's not so bad at all. For me, a 30% increase would mean about a $15-20 difference.

That's just not cool. How am I supposed to figure out what I want to spend the rest of my life practicing if I can't explore enough options?

Is that a legit beef with the school or am I making something out of nothing?

there is a whole controversy in CA regarding energy usage and organization. basically govt has authority to use public funds to enter into electricity business w/o voter approval. craziness with the props being added to the ballot. not saying i (dis)agree b/c i haven't read the prop, but its at the point where we don't trust any govt body to use public funds as they see fit. mismanagement, corruption, economy...many reasons for distrust.

well i think it's legit to want more elective time. i definitely like the schools with more electives so you have more control over what you do/more opportunities to explore different options. but is that worth the 100k plus to go to vcu over lsu? probably not?
