Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wow.

The Capitals, the #1 seed in the whole NHL, just lost game 7 to the Canadiens the last team in the entire playoffs (#16 and #8 in the east). They were leading 3 games to 1. What a complete failure.

One reason I love the NHL playoffs is the upsets and stuff. The semifinals in the West have the 1, 2, 3, and 5 seeds but the semifinals in the East have the 4, 6, 7, and 8 seeds. Home ice means nothing.

Sweet, I like upsets. Also, I am depending on you to post everything NHL here because there are too many sports on and I've been to busy to watch EPSN the past week or so.

Toyota just can't seem to catch a break. pun

What happened now?

Law School Sucks offered my Dallas Braden for Ty Wigginton. I think he wants to use him as his everyday 3B. Thoughts?

I am not inclined to do it because:
1) I don't think Braden is as great as he's pitching currently.
2) My bench is a little shallow until Manny gets back.
3) Wigginton is eligible for 1B, 2B and 3B and on fire right now (good back up).

I accept this responsibility.

First order of business is second round matchups:
Sharks v Wings, Canucks v Blackhawks, Flyers v Bruins, Penguins v Canadiens

I would do it. Braden is a solid pitcher, Wigginton is marginal at best. If you've had him all year, you've probably squeezed out the best hot streak this season. He'll return to batting .260 soon enough.

I should start studying now for my test tomorrow.

It's so funny how as the semester continues, I start studying closer and closer to the test date. I've been down to the day before the test for a couple of months now.

So JJ, brooklyn offered me 2 trades:

1 - Teixeira, Phil Hughes, CC for Morneau and Halladay
2 - Teixeira, Ian Stewart, Fuentes and CC for Morneau and Utley

What do you know about Fuentes? (FWIW, my relief pitching is Hoffman, Cordero, and Clayton Richard - I don't think any of them are doing well)

Fuentes may be gone soon and Rodney might replace him if he keeps sucking. Risky risky.

:hello: Taty!

How's it going in Hotlanta? Are you done with school yet?
Yea...last thing I had to do for undergrad ever was a chem research poster session last friday. That went well 🙂. Tomorrow is the student art show and I am excited for my bf to see my work...I am a terrible show-off lol.
I don't have any finals...so my mom is taking me to Florida for 5 days 😀...lets hope I come back with a tan and not resembling a lobster 😛

Apparently my team just doesn't like to swing. I'm pretty sure I get more BBs + Ks than anyone else

I'd like to think my team has decent power. If I lose Morneau and Utley, though, that would be a big drop off.

But if I had Halladay and CC, that would be an awesome 1-2. I just don't know if I can afford to lose both Morneau and Utley, even if I get Teixeira - I'm still not sold on him yet.

Hey Brook, after looking at my horrid pitching I want to keep Halladay so I'm killing that trade.

I would definitely think really hard about Rauch instead of Fuentes.

The odd part about this is that I think Morneau is the one I'm having a hard time getting rid of, he is starting off really well.

yea morneau will definitely have the higher batting average but i think tex will drive in more runs and hit more stuff out of the park

The Consumer Memo, 4/28: Toyota recalling 2003 Sequoia SUVs

Toyota Motor Corp., which recalled Lexus GX sport-utility vehicles this month because stability controls failed to engage fast enough, is recalling Sequoia SUVs to adjust a control system that drivers say is too aggressive.
Toyota told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the recall covers 50,000 of the 2003 Sequoias. About half of those vehicles had the control unit adjusted after a technical service bulletin was sent to dealers, said John Hanson, a Toyota spokesman.

Plus consider where they hit in the lineups:

Morneau = 4th (Span, Hudson, Mauer, before Cuddyer)
Tex = 3rd most often behind Jeter + Johnson, before A-Rod).

fwiw

OK, it's decision time, any suggestions for Case vs. Miami? Case has the better reputation, but costs at least 10k a year more. Miami has the better location, but doesn't quite have the reputation of Case. Although I'd like to do some research in med school, I don't intend to go into academics. I'll x-post this on the school specific board too.

Miami, is that the campus that had the sick board scores, too? (not that that means anything at all ever never like the match lists 🙄)

Which school did you feel better at?

Unless you really liked Case a whole ton more, I would still go with Tha U. Plus, it's not like you're living there now, so it could be a nice change of scenery.

not only does case cost 10k a year more, Miami's loans should be better across the board

Case
Pros
a lot more research funding
lower cost of living
PBL/no grades (i think)
affiliated with the Clinic

Miami
Pros
one huge busy ass hospital thats kinda in a mess (personality)
cheaper overall/better loans
me
if you are looking for research, the optho/bascom palmer is pretty balling and i think it has been flat out the best optho

Me, too. Black 4 door with a Metallica sticker on the back winshield.

That's how people at med school related functions recognize from SDN.
Haha. I remember the sticker!
You might as well have a picture of the llama-worm on your car. Your complete lack of anonymity makes me feel a little better about mine

It's the other campus, but they're combined now, who knows. I'm not really worried about standardized testing tho, I can usually handle those pretty well.

 mine's a blue 4 door. Civics unite! 😎

I drive an 04 Camry 🙁

I felt pretty good at both schools, but I suppose I'd be more comfortable staying in Florida. I do hate the cold, but I like the students at both places, maybe even a bit more at Case.
