I know you're only supposed to have one antivirus, and I have semantec, but is it an issue to have multiple anti malware programs?

I just got an error at startup that it couldn't run some temp file...

oooh didn't know you actually had norton/symantec installed. Yes, only 1 av.

Can (and should) have multiple anti malware progs. But only run one at a time obviously 😀

All this virus talk is making me paranoid about my own computer. 😏

Ahhhhh it is not better I repeat IT IS NOT BETTER

I can't even really run anything.

Somethings sending out emails from the symantec email proxy

sammich, system restore almost certainly won't work. next time you see the problem, jot it down for me, and i'll try to find a solution and walk you through it.

Hm.. Was just coming here to say that it seems like system restore fixed it... Everything is running normally as far as I can tell and malwarebytes didn't pick up anything.

I'm having Symantec give it another go now. I'll get some more malware stuff tomorrow to check it out. But it seems good to go! 🙂

Ohhh ffs. Windows just scanned all this bad crap then was like 'pay for the full version to remove. Hehe'

Now I'm scanning with semantec. I don't want to reconnect to the Internet to get the full version. I want to stay offline until all this crap is gone.

Are you sure it was windows? That sounds like what a trojan would do.

In the future:

First run rkill.
Then IE--> Tools --> Connections --> make sure proxy is unchecked.
Then malwarebytes.

Should fix most things.

That was a pretty deep post you made in the shadowing thread, blobby bob.

I definitely think pre-meds should not just choose a random specialty to shadow. Read up on what the type of doctor does beforehand and then decide if you want to see him/her in that setting.

i mean i think it's just a variation on what i feel like i always repeat on the pre-allo threads: "just take a second and think about what you're doing/why you're doing something before you actually do it"

i've seen a lot of people at my school just blindly sign up for a bunch of random activities without thinking about it because they think they "have to" for their apps. and then it's really no surprise when it comes to write a personal statement and they're like "huh? what am i supposed to put here?"

Oh no, I completely agree. It just throws me off when you post in other threads and actually capitalize your sentences. And write more than like 3 lines. I rarely check out other threads now.

Please direct your attention to the newest thread by doctor##etc.

Every time I see someone spell "are you" as "R U," I think of Toys R Us. And then I'm disappointed because it's nothing about toys.

I think they mostly went out of business, at least the few in my area back home.

that's a shame. i seem to remember they had fun games to play at kids r us

Sounds like Toys R Us to me, but I'm not sure I've ever been in a Kids R Us.

Wait, am I supposed to not use caps or proper punctuation in this thread? Cuz I think it's too late for me to start doing it right/wrong.

blobby bob does whatever the hell he wants. He's a free spirit like that.
