I am going to Comedy Night, but it doesn't start until 930. I'm going to leave at 9. I'm exhausted though....because I am a loser and like to be in bed at 830😉

Mine was pretty much resume format without the bullets: "Worked with ___ to ____. Used ____ to ___ and ____ people's ____. Saved ___ babies from ___, ___, and ____"

Then again, it's possible that they changed the wording of the section from last year to this year (it seems like they changed the wording of the autobiography a bit). And just because something worked for me doesn't mean that it's the right way or that it'll work for everyone - if you get the sense that they're asking for more of a description, I'm sure it won't be a big deal if you include one 🙂

Sweet....that is totally how I phrased the saving babies thing.

In addition to the information regarding begin/end date and # of hours, we would like to know if a letter of recommendation has been submitted on your behalf by somebody you worked with through this experience. If you do not have a letter from this experience, simply type N/A. This information allows Admissions Committee members reviewing your application to more readily match your letters to your experiences and thus facilitates the review of your application.

Entourage is good eh? People keep telling me about it. Meh, I just started watching nip/tuck (again) on netflix... that'll keep me busy for a while

I just started watching Hung (after seeing last weeks episode after TrueBlood). It's pretty good, so I started watching from the beginning. On episode 9 now, so I haven't seen the latest one.

Has anyone seen Inception!? THAT MOVIE IS AMAZING. It will blow your mind....😱

once you stick through the beginning of hung and the character development, it's pretty unique and intriguing. it's a top 5 show for me right now.

seeing inception thursday. pumped.

Actually inpatient ob is really neat. Things happen real fast and you're literally running around. A crash section is pretty insane, you'll see baby come out in literally 2-3 min.

oh i dont doubt it can be interesting, its just anything related to babies/kids isnt for me. I know they say you dont know what you really want to do until M3-M4, but i know ill never end up in these sections.

on a side note does it matter in your opinion drizz about what book to use for anatomy. We got this huge booklist of "required" books which if i bought them would come to like 2-3k...after talking to some M2s and above at my school ive got a good idea that many are useless and what books to buy for the 1st 2 years but with anatomy theres no real consensus. Some tell me netters, other grants, other rohen...it seems like netter + rohen might be the best combo? What do you think or does it even matter...can i just get like netter only?
 
I used netter's and moore's and it was fine.

Idk, I'd wait till 3rd year to see what you think. Ob has a lot going for it. 1) surgery and medicine 2) healthy patient population 3) always going to have a niche 4) don't have to manage chronic medical conditions unless you're on gyn/onc 5) longitudinal patient contact 6) most pts are really happy

i mean I thought the same thing before I did it but you never know.

true, in 3 years i could come back and read this as im applying for my obgyn residency :laugh:. Im trying not too worry about what im interested in for now, im hoping i make it that far then ill worry 😀
 
From the blog, and I think the only logical conclusion (making the movie officially too artsy for me) (spoiler): The whole movie is Christopher Nolan's dream about how he makes films.

Another thing I noticed that didn't make sense (spoiler) When their bodies were in the car and it was falling, it made the hotel have no gravity because Arthur was the dreamer and his body was in the car. Fine. But, when the hotel had no gravity, Fischer's body was also in the hotel. This means that the snow fortress should have had no gravity as well, since that was Fischer's dream.

I think the main reason I loved Inception was because I had no expectations. I heard about it once but that was it. Then I saw two FB posts saying it was a good movie and a friend asked if I wanted to go....so because of that I didn't have any big expectations and walked out of the movie completely entertained... I was on the edge of my seat at times, but that's because I looked at it as an action movie (because that's what I like) and not any of the deeper stuff that everyone else is gaining from it. Now reading through those points, I think it makes the movie even more interesting.

Spoilers:
In regards to the gravity, I believe that as they delve deeper into the dreams, the input from each higher level dream is harder to sense. This is why there had to be a kick that occurred at each level (vs just one unified kick) and it also explains the reason the music is relayed on each dream level.

So during the van chase, all of the flips and bumps are only transmitted to the 2nd dream layer. Also initial kick was pretty big and could be seen substantially in layer 2, but only triggered an avalanche in layer 3.

It was an interesting read. I think it makes sense, but so do some of the other theories as well. I know the movie has only been out for a weekend, but I think Nolan will stay away from answering any questions about the real meaning of anything and he'll leave it as ambiguous as it seems.

Though I do hate ambiguity... 😳

Just incase that's spoilerish? though I doubt it...

LOL JJ, It sounds like you want people to not like the movie.

Lots of movies don't start at the beginning! Plus, lots of movies have the same premise of making you think one thing when it's really something else? (ie: The Others) I can understand not liking the film, but I guess if it turns out that the entire thing is a dream, it still doesn't make the film any less amazing (maybe even more so!)
 
PS. Am I slightly invisible? I've said Happy Birthday to 3 diff people this week and while I don't need acknowledgement, others get acknowledged so I'm wondering if maybe I'm just lost in the shuffle??
