So it just hit me a couple days ago that in just a couple months i will have to apply to med school WAHHHHH! This means i have to retake and do well on the MCAT, collect recommendation letters, and raise my GPA by then. *hyperventilating begins*
Anyone else freaking out?
When do you guys plan on asking for rec letters? Starting personal statements, etc?

PS done, minus finishing touches, LOR...all requested and none received. MCAT May 1. A little bit of freaking out. I still have to do a ton of MCAT studying though, thats my main focus right now.

come on u nervous nellys i know there more of you out there..climb out from under your rocks

LOL. you guys will be fine! You're already up on the game which is more than I can say for most people! It took me until Marchish to realize how soon its coming together. just work hard. and be prepared because this process will suck the life out of you. But it will also be really fun at the same time. It's a roller coaster ride, exhilarating and a little scary but you come out feeling great! (assuming acceptance lol)

Much of the work you NEED to do are already behind you (EC's, GPA).

Much of the work you WILL need to do can be immediately improved upon (MCAT, application, interviewing).

If you fulfilled what you need to do and you have the will to focus and do well on what you will need to do, then you have a very high chance of acceptance.

The problem comes when people finally start figuring out, in their 4th/5th undergrad year, that they have NOT done what they NEEDED to do. Then it becomes like trying to travel back in time.
