I thought they were fangs at first, but then I thought they were like gold coverings or something and dismissed that first thought. Even if I'd been sure it was fangs it wouldn't have disturbed me. And it's not that the shirt disturbed me, it just seems like quite the odd choice for a music video, is all.

actually idk if you cook but if you want something to taste 'indian', just add a few things - curry powder, ginger, turmeric, maybe some masala, and it'll give it that indian quality that people always brag about.

then again, if you JUST add those things to pizza or something, it will taste like crap

Mmm, chicken tikka masala. So delicious. I'm sure masala will taste good on just about anything.

Do you know if I have to go do an Indian store specifically to get henna for my hands? Or is there a more common place to get it?

Do you actually want to BUY henna or just get it done on your hands? Unless you're already a pro at doing the art, it'll turn out a disaster if you're doing it yourself.

Well, you seem pretty artistically inclined , so it's worth a try. I know I'd struggle big time.

To be honest, I have no idea where you'd get henna? Doesn't your campus have fundraisers for the brown peeps where they bring in a person to do henna? or ask your future indian husband, he'll surely know
 
There are events with people that do henna. I've found that they always use the cheap type that washes away within a couple of days. The ink isn't dark at all.

I just got my copy of the new MSAR. I haven't seen last years, but this one is way nicer than the one from 2 years ago. I'm starting to get excited about applying.

I took my first midterm today in immunology, definitely harder than I thought but I still think I rocked it! 🙂

I saw that when she posted in this thread, it is pretty impressive. I heard about this girl on the radio that had 2 prosthetic legs and ran marathons and competed in division 1 golf. She was also adopted from a 3rd world country. These people tend to inspire me more than make me feel inadequate (but I know what you mean though).

Hey 2015! Hope everything's going well for you guys! 🙂

FloatOn, getting henna done professionally is a really fun experience (minus the wait time while it stains), and it'll look pretty for a couple of weeks at least. Find a full-service Indian-run salon in your area (for ex: places where they do eyebrow threading, etc), and henna application is usually one of the services. Generally they charge per palm/front of hand.

Try it, it's worth it! 😀

no, not live lol, they're perfectly dead, frozen under high pressure, dehydrated, and embedded in resin. we lost the resin blocks tho 🙁
 
my pi's pretty bad at organization, there are blocks all over the place, who knows where he put it. or maybe his collaborator took it? he doesn't remember either.

Hmm, my friend knows this legit Indian place that I'll have to check out. I wanted to try to do it myself, just for fun, on an area that's easy to cover up if I mess up. Or I can just practice on an apathetic friend!

Mine is on Friday. Yea, she's happy now. She said it looks very nice 👍 She now just wants to make sure I don't take it personal when some faculty members grill me at my thesis reading because I'm a junior and not a senior.

just wait 'till med school, then you can practice on cadavers, they're as apathetic as it gets.

Yea, I'm a little nervous but not terribly worried. My mentor is the only one who grades me and she knows I've really worked hard on it.
