Steve: What's up? What's up? What's up? What's up? What's up? Doug: Steve, slow down. Steve: I can't help it man, it's hottie overload. Doug: Just pace yourself. Steve: Ok... What's up?... 2, 3, 4. What's up?... 2, 3, 4... "

Wow, I haven't visited 2015 in a while. I don't think today can get any worse for me. This morning I got a call saying I was passed over for a job because the person they hired had more "life experience"...I don't see how having life experience would make him more qualified to write random stuff but whatever. Came in to work and they cut my hours short. Found out I forgot to sign cover sheet for one of my LORs. Then to top it off I was going to buy a bag right now but it's no longer on sale and I should have bought it last night but was too lazy!! Grrr, just one of those days

peace out peeps... gotta go rock a mammalian physiology midterm.

🙁

at least the LOR thing shouldn't be a big issue 🙂

midterm in may?

sounds like you need to buy a different bag.

flow, nice reference to the gym class heroes.

oh, but strangely enough, AACOMAS didn't count my toxicology class as sGPA.

cool guys. the night im back and no one is in sight... ok ok ok. i see how it is.

i don't know how to classify some of these classes

is it kinda your "judgement"

ha just classify it how it will help you the best, then see what they actually decide.

good point, im not putting some of these classes into science cuz its bringing down the gpa

i think we need to recruit more members here this thread doesnt have enough peopleeeeee

PEOPLE WHERE YOU AAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT

i call for recruitment of members....everyone recruit 5 members

lol how about some hazing... i have some good ideas in mind

msb, i think ur fb is ******ed, or maybe its mine

It better not be kinda your judgement. There is very specific criteria for science and non-science courses as far as sGPA is concerned

well yes, for BCMP classes, but there are some classes that i feel can definitely go two different ways (natural science or behavioral science, for ex) and some even more questionable classifications for humanities classes

Do you guys see the message that AMCAS is trying to enter transcripts received on the 14th?? And I thought I was early requesting transcripts to be sent in last week.

i still need to send out one more..

as far as LORs go, do we send those in now or can those be sent with out secondaries?

I think you need to have them by secondaries/interviews but you can send in your application without them

you are early lol, don't worry

Yup but I've been procrastinating with PS. Won't have my draft looked over until Tues next week by people at the writing center. I'm not counting on schools being blown away by my PS

good, because my teacher is lagging like no other and i cannot get ahold of my other teacher to get it from her

lol seriousssly because everything i am writing are things they will probably ask about anyways

Hardest part for me right now is that I have all the ideas on paper/body paragraphs but can't put them together so that they click and I don't know what I should do for intro and conclusion. I end up just stress eating instead of writing

just relax until you go to the writing center. they'll help you with that. put down the little debbies.

Oh quick question. Do your schools do distinction? I could have sworn above 3.5 or so is magna cum laude but for some reason my school doesn't do it

my school has honors distinctions. my little sister graduated this weekend she got cum laude with like a 3.3 i was pretty surprised. knowing that some schools have limits that low i would guess that ADCOMS don't really care about it.

my school top 2% get summa and the top 14% get magna

you've done the hard part

At my school, >3.9 w/ an A in the honors thesis/capstone course is the highest distinction. Lucky for me, apparently the prof for our cheme honors thesis/capstone is ridiculous -_-'.

Also, I am just now working on my PS. Ugh. Also, trying to bug LOR writers to get all submitted over the next week and a half.

i still need to find the DO who writes letters for cash.

same with out school too, actually i think it might be 2 and 12% for us, not sure where did u find that info?

I just googled my school name and summa cum laude... I was actually off a bit. At my school it breaks down like this:

more information.
How do I know if I'm graduating with Latin Honors?

University honors are awarded with the bachelor's degree to students who have an exceptional overall GPA and have completed at least 80 graded units at the University of California. The honors designations are: summa cum laude, top 2%; magna cum laude, the next 4%; and cum laude, the next 8% of the graduating class. Appropriate GPAs are calculated annually to reflect the top 14% of the previous year's graduating seniors. University honors are recorded on the student's diploma and transcript.
The criteria for Latin Honors for Fall 2009- Summer 2010 is as follows:
Cum Laude:
3.623- 3.773
Magna Cum Laude:
3.774- 3.884
Summa Cum Laude:
3.885- 4.000

hopefully i can get into the magna at least....make my momma proud!
